    Abstract: The mechanical loom includes a drive unit for a shaft of a device from a leno selvedge and is synchronized with the frames of a mechanical loom. The drive unit comprises a first electromotor and a second electromotor. The drive shaft (111) is actrated by the first electromotor (110) (driving motor) and is electrically coupled with the second electromotor (120) driven by the driven shaft (121) of the mechanical loom, by at least two phases of alternating current waveforms carried by two or three electric transmission wires coupling the first and second electromotors together.

    Abstract: A device for forming a leno edge has two reciprocally operated weaving shafts. There is a thread guiding element mounted on one weaving shaft. A needle holder has two parallel substantially U-shaped plastic frame rails arranged on the other weaving shaft, and each needle holder supports a thread guiding element. Each of the frame rails has a replaceable magnetic metal rail insert on its side facing the thread guiding element.

    Abstract: A lifting heddle with a body which includes at least two separate sections joined by a link. The separate sections are adjustably joined so that the lifting heddle can be lengthened and shortened. The link can be provided as a U-shaped rail with openings or recesses to allow escape of any accumulated dust. Also, a replaceable stop is located on the lifting heddle to prevent the half-heddle leg from cutting into the lifting heddle during movement of the heddle frames.
