  • Patent number: 8882406
Abstract: The milling cutter, in particular a round-head milling cutter, has a tool head, which extends along an axial direction and has a number of cutting teeth that each have a cutting edge. Chip flutes are located between each of the cutting teeth. The cutting teeth each have a front-side radial portion and a circumferential axial portion. The respective cutting edge and the chip flute are disposed such that they are inclined in opposite directions with respect to the axial direction such that the cutting tooth widens towards a foot region. In another embodiment, the tool head has two parts: a carrier part made of a tool steel, and a cutting part made of hard metal fastened to the carrier part. The milling cutter is distinguished by a long service life with a high cutting rate and a high quality of machining.

  • Publication number: 20120219375
Abstract: The tool holder (2) is realized for fastening to a machine tool and for reversibly receiving a radial tool (4), in particular for receiving a milling cutter. The tool holder (2) is realized in three parts, having a rear machine part (6), made of a ductile elastic tool steel, for reversibly fastening to the machine tool, and having a front clamping part (10), made of a tool steel, for reversibly receiving the tool (4), and having an intermediate part (8), made of a heavy metal, in particular solid hard metal, disposed between the machine part (6) and the clamping part (10). Owing to the greater density of the heavy metal in comparison with the tool steel, the tool holder (2) is better able to absorb forces occurring during a milling operation, thereby achieving a milling operation that is sparing of the cutting tool, and consequently achieving a long service life.

  • Patent number: 6164012
Abstract: The invention relates to a completely biodegradable hydrogel comprising polyester polyurethane polyurea containing urea groups as well as polysaccharides and/or their derivatives, the hydrogel containing plant material capable of dividing. The invention also relates to a process for the embedding of the biological material and the fabrication and shaping of the hydrogels from aqueous solutions. The hydrogels according to the invention may be used as coating material for embedding biological material capable of dividing, especially plant material, preferably plant cells, protoplasts, plant tissues and plant organs, as well as zygotic or somatic plant embryos, under sterile conditions for the purpose of protecting the material during storage, transport and handling. The hydrogels according to the invention may also contain further additives, for example, plant protection agents or nutrients. The embedded biological plant material according to the invention may be used as artificial seed.
