  • Patent number: 7124911
Abstract: The present invention provides a container for dispensing individual paper products that includes a housing, a cover hingedly or removably attached to the housing wherein the cover defines a dispensing opening, a means for elevating paper products, and a plunger disposed in the interior area of the housing. The plunger is urged toward the dispensing opening by the means for elevating paper products. The container may be included in a system for dispensing paper products that further includes a cartridge containing paper products. The cartridge defines a dispensing opening and a second opening wherein the means for elevating paper products extends through the second opening into the interior area of the cartridge to contact the paper products and urge the paper products toward the dispensing opening. The cartridge and container may be configured wherein the second opening is formed by removal of a removable portion during the process of inserting the cartridge into the container.

  • Publication number: 20060010422
Abstract: A toolkit for developing user-interfaces for a system administration program. The toolkit has a server-side application-programming interface (API). The server-side has task-registry files that each describe a task group. The toolkit also has a client-side API. A developer can customize product-specific properties files for a specific product and write code that calls the server-side and client-side APIs to create a graphical user interface for the specific product.

  • Patent number: 6931076
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for detecting a tone. In some embodiments, a signal is communicated by applying a first quantity of samples per period and a second quantity of samples per period. The samples may then be translated into information. For example, the first and second quantity of samples may be translated into information and identified. According to some embodiments, a signal communicates information at at least two different frequencies simultaneously to determine a common carrier for transmitting and receiving nodes.

  • Publication number: 20050047443
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide methods for determining the characteristics of a local loop using the multi-carrier tones of a DSL activation process. For one embodiment, one or more sets of downstream multi-carrier tones of a digital subscriber line activation process are received at an extended voice-band modem and are capable of transmitting upstream multi-carrier tones of the digital subscriber line activation process over a local loop. The downstream carrier tones and the upstream carrier tones are folded into a first multi-tone signal and a second multi-tone signal, respectively, each having a plurality of component signals within the spectrum band of the extended voice-based modem. The total signal power of the first multi-tone signal is divided by the power of one of the plurality of component signals of the second multi-tone signal to determine a ratio value. The ratio value is used to determine a characteristic of the local loop.

  • Publication number: 20020056116
Abstract: The present invention provides a network which includes a server, power bus, and at least a single terminal for asymmetrically communicating with the server over broadband and narrowband channels using modem technology. Broadband communication may include transmitting video change data for display on at least a single terminal monitor. Narrowband communication may include transmitting keyboard and mouse data to a server for control of application programs either prior to or after runtime. The use of this asymmetric modem communication techniques, as opposed to network technology, allows a large amount of data to be transmitted over a limited bandwidth network, such as home powerlines.
