    Abstract: A magnetically resettable emergency shutoff valve (10) is disclosed. A valve member (26) shifts into a seat (28) and blocks flow of a fluid, such as natural gas, through the valve (10) in response to a seismic event of a selected magnitude. Movement of a magnet (32) externally of the valve (10) leads to movement of the ferromagnetic valve member (26) away from the seat (28).
