  • Publication number: 20140147081
Abstract: A data center connector (DCC) system includes a receptacle connector assembly that includes a receptacle body having a plug receiving end, a panel assertion end and a plug receiving chamber at the plug receiving end that receives a plug body of a plug connector assembly. A receptacle ferrule is located in the receptacle body. The receptacle ferrule is moveable axially within the receptacle body and biased toward the plug receiving end. A plug connector assembly includes a plug body having an insertion end sized to be received within the plug receiving chamber of the receptacle body. A plug ferrule is fixed axially within the plug body that contacts the receptacle ferrule and moves the receptacle ferrule axially with the plug body being inserted within the plug receiving chamber of the receptacle body.

  • Patent number: 8333518
Abstract: Radio frequency identification (RFID)-equipped communication components are disclosed. The communication components can include fiber optic components, such as fiber optic connectors and fiber optic adapters as examples. An RFID-equipped circuit is provided in the communication components to communicate information. In order that the electrical circuit be provided in the communication component without altering the communication component connection type, the circuit may be disposed in at least one recessed area of the communication component housing. In this manner, the communication component maintains its connection type such that it is compatible with a complementary communication component connection type for backwards compatibility while also being RFID-equipped.

  • Patent number: 7694873
Abstract: A vending machine for dispensing products includes a germicidal light for disinfecting a product dispensed by the vending machine. The germicidal light is positioned adjacent an exit chute of the vending machine such that it exposes the product to a sterilizing frequency of light when the product is dispensed. Alternatively, the products may be intermittently exposed to the sterilizing light while the products are on display in accordance with a predetermined exposure schedule. The invention is particularly effective when it is used in connection with a canned drink machine.

  • Publication number: 20090028507
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to fiber optic connectors and adapters, and more specifically to a simplified fiber optic adapter assembly and integrated shutter mechanism. In various embodiments, the simplified fiber optic adapter assembly includes a one-piece outer housing, a one or two-piece inner housing, and several different clip arrangements, reducing the number of parts associated with conventional fiber optic adapter assemblies and eliminating the need for ultrasonic welding or the like. In various embodiments, the integrated shutter mechanism includes one or more shutter doors that are opened internally via the motion required for connector installation.

  • Patent number: 7218474
Abstract: An assembly includes a housing with a base. A mounting pad is positioned on the base. The assembly also includes a micromechanical device coupled to the mounting pad. First and second side rails extend from the base to form first and second rail corners. The first and second rail corners are subject to striking a surface. The first and second rail corners have first and second elevations that are uneven to reduce impacts reaching the micromechanical device.

  • Publication number: 20050037787
Abstract: A sync-seeking system comprises a central server and a portable server that include control programs to maintain the equivalency of their stored data and to accumulate additional data from outside sources. The portable server establishes a wireless connection with at least one wireless network, e.g., a wireless wide area network (WWAN) or a wireless local area network (WLAN), and the central server and portable server establish a logical connection via the at least one wireless network. In order to maintain logical equivalency, the central server and portable server intermittently engage in peer-to-peer communication via the logical connection to exchange the additional data they have accumulated. The portable server can be interconnected, via wireless links, to display devices, such as laptop computers, PDAs, set-top boxes, and cell phones.
