Abstract: A portable device for visually indicating portable computing device data via an array of lamps, each lamp including a plurality of individually controllable LEDs, a driver circuit for separately powering each of the LEDs, such that each lamp can project light of a different color or intensity, a receiver for wirelessly receiving portable computing device data indicative of information for visual representation, and a battery for powering the receiver and the driver circuit. A system is also provided in which an SDK is provided portable device, and mobile phone apps use the SDK to represent status data with the LEDs.

Abstract: An invention providing a racing instrument for a sailboat having a smartphone, an app executing on the smartphone for displaying at least speed over ground of the sailboat as sensed by the smartphone, a bracket for receiving at least an edge of the smartphone for mounting the smartphone to the sailboat, and an array of lamps formed in the bracket for visually indicating time to a race start. In another aspect, the invention includes a race starting device for a sailboat having an array of lamps, a mounting fixture for removably attaching the array of lamps to the sailboat, a battery for powering the array of lamps, a receiver for receiving a signal indicative of a race instruction, a processor for interpreting the race instruction signal, and a driver circuit for separately powering each of the lamps in the array of lamps to visually represent the race instruction to the sailors.

Abstract: A system for automating the transfer of intellectual property is provided. The system includes a central computer, a client computer, a communications link between the central computer and the Internet, and a communications link between the client computer and the Internet. The system also includes at least one database containing a plurality of information records accessible by the central computer, each data record containing an intellectual property identification number, and at least one database containing a plurality of intellectual property transfer documents accessible by the central computer. Software executing on the central computer receives a property transfer request, generates necessary transfer documents, transmits said transfer documents, receives executed transfer documents, and transmits said executed transfer documents to necessary intellectual property recordation authorities.

Abstract: A record protection system for a networked database is provided. The system includes a client, a host processor accessible by the client via a telecommunications network, a database accessible by the host processor and containing at least one data record, software executing on the host processor for receiving data from the client for one or more fields of the data record, software executing on the processor for receiving data from a source, software executing on the host processor for comparing the data received from the client to the data received from the source, and software executing on the host processor to prevent editing of the data record by the client if the at least a portion of the data received from the client matches the data received from the source.

Abstract: A system for onsite backup of internet-based data is provided. The system includes a central computer, a client computer, a communications link between the central computer and the Internet, and a communications link between the client computer and the Internet. The system also includes at least one database containing a plurality of data records accessible by the central computer, each data record containing a client identification number. Software executing on the central computer receives a data backup request, and software executing on the central computer transmits the data backup to the client computer.
