  • Patent number: 9241849
Abstract: A rescue apparatus and method for the transport of injured persons from an area deemed immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH), being a low-profile wheeled platform with a shaped aperture having the contour matching that of an air-pack. Immobilized fire fighters or others may be placed in a supine position atop the platform, their air packs entering into the contoured aperture; so that they may utilize the air supply while being evacuated. The wheels of the apparatus preferably straddle a fire hose during the transport using it as a guide for safe egress from the IDLH environment.
