  • Patent number: 6899238
Abstract: A davit arm system includes a base that supports a davit arm and engages an underlying ground surface. The system components are preferably designed for arrangement in alternative ways to accommodate different installation environments, and/or for packaging in a bag that may be carried by a single person. The relative positions of the components are preferably adjustable relative to the base to further accommodate different applications. Yet another desirable option is to mount the davit arm on the support base in a manner that allows rotation about both a vertical axis and a horizontal axis. A winch is preferably mounted on the davit arm in a manner that counterbalances the davit arm relative to its vertical axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 6260661
Abstract: A first roof mounting assembly includes first and second brackets which are disposed on top of a roof and fastened to adjacent beams which support the roof. First and second brackets are mounted to respective brackets and interconnected together with an anchorage. A second roof mounting assembly includes first and second brackets having base members and intermediate members. The base members are connected to the roof beams, and the intermediate members are interconnected by a cross-member which supports the anchorage. In a preferred application, the anchorage accommodates passage of a slotted coupling device movably mounted on the safety line, and the safety line may be secured to the anchorage without obtaining access to either end of the line.

  • Patent number: 5649882
Abstract: An exercise treadmill has a plurality of shock absorbing springs which are disposed between a tread supporting subframe and a floor engaging frame. The springs are inserted into vertically oriented sleeves which are secured to the floor engaging frame. Posts extend downward from the subframe and into the sleeves and ride on the tops of the springs.

  • Patent number: 5244446
Abstract: The prevent invention provides an apparatus 100 of a type on which a person exercises. The apparatus 100 includes a support frame 101 and a chair member 102 that is rotatably mounted to the support frame 101. A rotational resistance means 105 is also mounted to the support frame 101. The rotational resistance means 105 includes conical surfaces 255 and 256 that provide frictional resistance through interengagement between one of thirty-two teeth 257 on shaft member 154 and one of three ratcheting members 258a-c on rotatable friction member 155. A rotational arm means 106 is operatively connected to the rotational resistance means 105 to allow application of a rotational force in a given direction of rotation against the rotational resistance means 105. A foot anchor means 103 is mounted to the support frame 101, so that a person seated in the chair member 102 may anchor his feet beneath the foot anchor means 103 in order to perform abdominal flexions.

  • Patent number: 5217487
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus 100 of a type on which a person 190 receives back therapy. The apparatus 100 includes a frame 101 designed to rest upon a floor surface 109. A support member 102 is pivotally mounted to the frame 101 above the floor surface 109, and a pelvic belt 103 is secured relative to the support member 102. In operation, the pelvic belt 103 stabilizes the person's pelvis relative to the support member 102, and the support member supports some portion of the person's torso including the pelvis. The support member 102 pivots among several positions, including a mounting position suitable for mounting by a person, and a locking mechanism 104 secures the support member 102 in any of a plurality of back therapy positions.
