    Abstract: The invention relates to labels and other items that have a surface at least partially coated with an adhesive. In various embodiments of the invention, an agent is applied to a region in the adhesive to reduce tackiness of the adhesive in the region. This may reduce the oozing of adhesive, particularly during storage, shipping and use of labels in various types of printers.
