  • Patent number: 6222725
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting parts of a personal computer, for example, a speaker, indicator board and option card, to the main frame of a computer. The mounting apparatus includes a main body part detachably mounted to the main frame of a personal computer. A speaker mounting part is arranged in one side portion of the interior of the main body part, while an indicator board mounting part is arranged in the other side portion of the interior of the main body part. Also, an option card support part has a plurality of guide rails arranged parallel with the bottom surface of the main frame of a computer and is formed on an exterior surface of a rear wall of the main body part. Therefore, the above parts are easily mounted to the computer using the mounting apparatus having a single body, thus effectively increasing the usable space defined in the main frame of a computer.

  • Patent number: 6005768
Abstract: An enclosure for reducing noise of the data storage read-write device is disclosed. The enclosure preferably contains the hard disk drive. The enclosure includes a flat box type housing 40 having at least one opening and a slit 42 formed along the side faces of the housing 40. Each slit 42 has a predetermined length extending inwardly from the opening and being aligned to face each other. Fitted in the housing 40 is a sound absorption layer 30 surrounding the hard disk drive. This sound absorption layer 30 is formed into a open flat box having a slit 34 formed along the side faces of the sound absorption layer and being aligned with the slit 42 of housing 40. At front periphery of the layer 30 a step portion 36 and a guide groove 38 are formed. A supporting plate 50 is provided for mounting a hard disk drive. The supporting plate 50 is made of a metal sheet and has a bending portion 54 extending from each side thereof.

  • Patent number: 5978232
Abstract: A computer body having a chassis, a motherboard, and a number of stanchions to secure the motherboard to the chassis while separating the motherboard from the chassis. The stanchion disclosed in this invention is easy to make and manufacture, as it is made from just one part. The stanchion is easy to install and disassemble. The invention requires holes be made in the chassis to accommodate and fix the stanchions to the chassis. In addition, the invention requires holes in the motherboard to accommodate a screw to fasten the motherboard to the tops of the stanchions. The invention allows a wide variety of motherboards to be installed in a single chassis without requiring the manufacture of a new chassis each time a slightly different motherboard is used. Also, the present invention prevents the motherboard form shaking and vibrating when the computer device is being handled or moved.

  • Patent number: 5823644
Abstract: The present invention is a personal computer case that is easy to assemble and disassemble. The computer case can be separated into two members, the first covering the top, front, right and left sides of the case, and the second covering the bottom, front, and rear sides of the case. A push button operated latch enables one member to become detached from the other member, allowing the case to be opened, without requiring the use of screws or special tools. The push button contains a slidable detent feature that can prevent the button from being depressed, thus preventing the inadvertent disassembly, separation, and opening of the computer case. The case contains a security feature that involves attaching a padlock to a tab portion of one member that is slid through a hole in the other member. With the padlock attached, the tab can not be retracted from the hole, thus preventing the unwanted separation of the two members.
