  • Patent number: 7418001
Abstract: There are provided a router for scheduling a packet and a method therefor. The stream classifier decides a stream ID of a packet received from an external source on the basis of header information of the packet, and classifies and outputs the packet. The sequence number allocation unit allocates a sequence number to the packet and classifies the packet into a general packet or a jumbo packet according to a length of the packet. The buffer unit includes a pair of a first buffer for storing the general packet and a second buffer for storing the jumbo packet by the number of stream IDs. The scheduler provides a service priority to general packets stored in the first buffer, rather than jumbo packets stored in a second buffer. The order management unit corrects an output order of packets with a same stream ID on the basis of sequence numbers.

  • Patent number: 7145935
Abstract: A Signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) measuring apparatus in a multiple antenna high data rate packet transmission system measures signal energy to interference energy ratio by using pilot signals that are orthogonal to each other between antennas signals and used by a receiver for separating the signals transmitted from all of the transmitting antennas from each other. The SIR measuring apparatus comprises a signal energy measuring unit, an interference energy measuring unit and a SIR measuring unit. The signal energy measuring unit measures signal energy by synthesizing after coherently integrating and non-coherently integrating values that are obtained by correlating a received signal with pilot patterns equal to the pilot patterns of transmitted antenna signals, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7020832
Abstract: The present invention relates to a turbo decoder having a state metric, a calculating method using the turbo decoder and a computer-readable recoding medium for executing a calculation method implemented to the turbo decoder. The turbo decoder includes branch metric calculation unit, state metric calculation unit and log likelihood ratio calculation unit. The present invention may reduce calculation steps by simplifying a conventional turbo decode algorithm, reducing a size of a hardware, which the turbo decoder can be implemented in as an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) or a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The present invention can be implemented in an error correction in wireless communication system and satellite communication system.

  • Patent number: 7006504
Abstract: A VC merging apparatus and a method of establishing or terminating connection as well as a recording medium storing instructions for embodying the same method are disclosed. The method of establishing/terminating connection includes the steps of; a) determining a kind of connection with reference to connection parameters according to an order of connection establishment or termination from a central controller; b) establishing/terminating a multi point-to-point connection based on ingress/egress connection labels, if the kind of the connection is a VC merging connection; and c) establishing/terminating a point-to-point connection based on the ingress/egress connection labels, if the kind of the connection is a non-VC merging connection.

  • Patent number: 5991636
Abstract: An adaptive power control method for a CDMA mobile radio telephone system is disclosed which operates similarly to a fixed increment and decrement power control method in the portion where the slope of the channel signal due to a fading effect is steep when the transmission power of a mobile station is adjusted. In the portion where the slope of the channel signal is gentle, like the peak portion of the channel signal, the granular noise can be improved by using the Jayant's equations. In accordance with the present invention, the fading effect in the mobile radio channel can be efficiently compensated without giving much load to a forward link since a mobile station determines the variation of the backward channel signal by using the statistical characteristics of a power control command (1 bit) transmitted from a base station.

  • Patent number: 5859370
Abstract: The present invention is a method of detecting and sizing of a small crack in a root between two crests in stud bolt threads. The key idea is from the fact that the Rayleigh wave is detected between large regularly spaced pulses from the thread. The delay time is the same as the propagation delay time of the slow Rayleigh wave and is proportional to the size of the crack. To efficiently detect the slow Rayleigh wave, three methods based on digital signal processing are proposed; modified wave shaping, dynamic predictive deconvolution, and dynamic predictive deconvolution, and dynamic predictive deconvolution combined with wave shaping.
