  • Patent number: 4778359
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved connector assembly which is made of one-piece design and construction with two sections that can move relative to each other to thereby provide a connector assembly which can pivotally connect the adjoining end portions of an upper and lower string of sucker rods that are angularly disposed relative to one another within a tubing string of like angulation. Through use of the present invention one-piece connector assembly, the string of sucker rods can be inserted through various dog-leg sections in the well bore hole and further are able to absorb longitudinal forces which may be exerted on the sucker rod strings thereby permitting the sucker rod strings to reciprocate without being subjected to stress from numerous frictional forces.

  • Patent number: 4437218
Abstract: A portable power operated apparatus that may be positioned adjacent a first stack of lengths of oil well tubing having collars screwed on first ends thereof. The lengths of tubing are subsequently removed from the first stack onto the apparatus. Each length of tubing after being disposed on the apparatus is power rotated with the collar being removably held stationary relative to the tubing to separate the collar therefrom. The collar after removal is inspected, and if found satisfactory for further use is directed to the rearward end of the apparatus. The collar at the rearward end of the apparatus is removably gripped in a reverse position and screwed onto the second end of the tubing by rotating the latter. The length of tubing with collar attached is then lifted by the apparatus and moved to a second stack of tubing where it remains until again needed.

  • Patent number: 4329124
Abstract: A connector assembly that may be used to so pivotally connect the adjoining end portions of an upper and lower string of sucker rod that are angularly disposed relative to one another within a tubing string of like angulation, that longitudinal forces may be exerted on the sucker rod strings to reciprocate the same without the sucker rod strings being subjected to an appreciable twisting stress. The connector assemblies may not only be used to connect angularly disposed strings of sucker rod at their junctions, but also to connect the lower end of the lowermost string of sucker rod to the piston rod of an elongate pump situated below the tubing string in which the sucker rods are disposed.

  • Patent number: 4165626
Abstract: An improved wash water supplying drive head and scraper and cutter assembly for use on an apparatus that sequentially receives tubular members such as oil well tubing, with each tubular member when in position on the apparatus being straightened, having rust and foreign material removed from the exterior surface, scale and other foreign material removed from the interior thereof, and the tubular member being hydraulically tested at a predetermined elevated pressure prior to being removed from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4131005
Abstract: An apparatus and method of using the same to sequentially subject tubular members such as oil well tubing, drill pipe and the like from a stack thereof to a sequence of operations in which each tubular member while mounted in the apparatus is straightened, has rust and foreign material removed from the external surface thereof, has solid foreign material removed from the interior thereof, and the tubular member after being straightened and descaled being subjected to hydraulic testing at a desired magnitude. The apparatus is preferably wheel supported to permit it to be moved adjacent stacked pipe in the field. However, should it be desired, the apparatus may be mounted on skids and the like or other suitable base, and used at a stationary position either adjacent to or at a distance from stacked tubular members.
