  • Publication number: 20070058087
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a system and method for processing an image. An image processing unit includes a processor unit and a control unit. The processor unit receives an incoming video signal. The control unit defines image frames from the video signal. The image frames have bit planes in a plurality of spatial segments for manifestation on a spatial light modulator. The control unit also defines on and off states for a solid state light source. The control unit modulates the solid state light source at a modulated level during at least one bit plane such that illumination of the solid state light source at the modulated level is equally applied during the at least one bit plane for each of the plurality of spatial segments.

  • Publication number: 20070047105
Abstract: A projection system includes a modulator and an Offner relay. The modulator is to modulate light in accordance with sub-frames of a frame of image data. The Offner relay is to differently aim, in accordance with each sub-frame, the light as modulated.

  • Patent number: 7167316
Abstract: A projection lens assembly is provided that includes first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth lenses. The second, third, fifth, and sixth lenses of the projection lens assembly form a double gauss-type lens assembly. The first lens is configured to provide telecentricity and the fourth lens in configured to correct aberrations due to variations in the third lens.

  • Publication number: 20060164443
Abstract: For each bit plane of a plurality of bit planes of a pixel, a first spatial light modulator is modulated in accordance with a value of the bit plane. For each bit plane of at least one of the plurality of bit planes of the pixel, a second spatial light modulator is modulated in accordance with the value of the bit plane as logically OR'ed with values of corresponding bit planes of neighboring pixels to the pixel.

  • Publication number: 20050166249
Abstract: A frame of a video feed is fitted to a display device. At least one marker is ascertained that defines a region of the frame of the video feed. The region has a horizontal to vertical ratio that matches a horizontal resolution to vertical resolution ratio of the display device. At least one row of the region defined by the at least one marker is buffered. The region of the frame defined by the at least one marker is displayed on the display device.
