  • Patent number: 4711028
Abstract: A dry-shaving apparatus comprises a holder for a circular cutting unit which includes an external cutting member formed with hair-entry apertures, having an outwardly extending annular flange portion, and movable transversely relative to the holder, and an internal cutting member rotatably drivable relative to the external cutting member. A retaining plate is positioned inside the holder. The external cutting member is detachably secured to the retaining plate, the internal cutting member being retained between the external cutting member and the retaining plate, by means of two resilient arms engaging around the flange portion of the external cutting member and secured to the retaining plate. A spring associated with the retaining plate moves the same transversely relative to the holder.

  • Patent number: 4698908
Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprises a housing having a top surface, and a holder together with a retaining element provided with three triangularly arranged cutting units. Provision is made for engaging the retaining element with the holder with the cutting units therebetween to form a unitary body detachable from the top surface of the housing. Three stepped recesses are arranged 120.degree. apart in the peripheral wall of the retaining element, each recess having two steps. Three stops are arranged 120.degree. apart on the top surface of the housing. The holder body can be mounted on the housing in three positions, the stops on the housing engaging one of the two steps in the retaining element recesses in each of two of such positions and engaging the peripheral wall of the retaining element in the remaining position, the axial distance between the retaining element and the holder thereby being varied.

  • Patent number: 4442597
Abstract: There is provided a shaving apparatus comprising a housing, a shaving head, and a resilient one-piece hinge element connecting the shaving head to the housing. The hinge element has a hinge pin portion and a connecting portion. The shaving head is formed to engage the hinge pin portion and retain the same under tension. The housing wall is provided with a slot to receive the connecting portion and to retain the same in place under elastic tension.

  • Patent number: 4355464
Abstract: There is provided a shaving apparatus comprising a drivable shaving member coupled to an electric motor by means of a gear-wheel transmission. The gear-wheel transmission includes a pinion on the motor shaft and a gear-wheel connected to the shaving member. The shaving apparatus has a trimmer coupled to the electric motor by an eccentric mechanism. The eccentric mechanism is coupled to the pinion on the motor shaft by means of an additional gear-wheel included in the gear-wheel transmission, the gear-wheel connected to the shaving member also being coupled to the pinion on the motor shaft through such additional gear-wheel.

  • Patent number: 4318223
Abstract: A shaving apparatus comprises a housing and a shaving head provided with at least one shaving unit having a stationary cutting member and a cooperating cutting member drivable by means of a motor and a coupling spindle. At a location near the rim of each stationary cutting member the housing is provided with an axially adjustable pin, one end of which engages such rim. The stationary cutting member is engaged and supported by a resilient element at another location near its rim, the stationary cutting member being pivotable about the axially adjustable pin against the action of the resilient element. The other end of each axially adjustable pin engages an inclined contact face of a flexible endless band. By means of an actuating arm and an actuating knob on the housing wall, this flexible endless band is movable in a direction substantially transverse of the axial direction of each pin.
