Abstract: An apparatus for use in cleaning the underwater surfaces of swimming pools and the like includes a body with an inlet and an outlet for connection to a flexible suction hose; a flexible foot member adapted to at least partially surround the inlet; means for interrupting the flow between the inlet and the outlet and characterised in that the apparatus includes a plurality of feet projecting from the bottom of the body, each foot comprising a plurality of adjacent resiliently flexible members projecting in a direction away from the body and towards the rear thereof.

The guide means preferably comprising an arm adapted to extend from the body and terminating in a rotatable wheel lying transversely to the axis of the inlet of the body.

Abstract: Underwater cleaning apparatus of a general type well-known includes a chamber having an inlet on one side thereof and a pair of outlets on the other side communicating with a pair of passages adapted for connection to a suction hose; a pair of valve seats for the outlets; a valve closure arrangement for the valve seats; a valve closure arrangement including a body, preferably of cylindrical segmental shape, mounted in the chamber to pivot about an axis perpendicular to the plane through the axis of the valve seats and including a closure for each seat with the closures disposed relative to each other and parallel to the pivotable axis such that the closures may close the valve seats alternately on oscillation of the valve body about its axis; and a curved surface connecting the closures with the surface being concavely profiled at least the areas adjacent the closures.

Abstract: A battery clamp for connection of electrical cables to a terminal post of an electric storage battery has a body of electrically conductive material an aperture formed therethrough to accommodate the terminal post and includes cam operated locking means for releasably securing the clamp to the post and also means for releasably securing at least one electric cable to the clamp.Also disclosed is a cam operated electrical cable connector for use with the battery clamp or a suitably adapted cable adaptor.
