  • Patent number: 6474473
Abstract: A shipping and display container for bottles or other frangible articles, in which mating insert half sections of cardboard or other material have recessed portions defining supports for nesting and supporting the articles along three spatial axes. An insert section may be used as a display container for the article or articles, and two insert sections placed together in mirror image relationship from opposite sides of the articles and placed in a box form a container for shipment. The insert sections are each formed from a single blank, and may be shipped flat or in an erected or partially erected condition. Panels of the insert sections interlock when erected to hold the insert section in erected condition, and adhesive may be used between some panels to assist in holding the insert section erected and to enhance the strength and rigidity of the insert section.

  • Patent number: 5979644
Abstract: A multi-unit foldable carrier including a pair of opposed side walls, a pair of opposed end walls and a bottom wall, formed from two panels, adjacent to the side and end walls to form an open, generally rectangular container. A handle allows the carrier to be lifted and is formed from at least two panels extending upwardly from the bottom wall and also acting to divide the generally rectangular container into at least two sections. A divider construction is coupled to at least one of the side walls or one of the end walls for further dividing the rectangular container into more than two separate volumes. Each of the side walls, end walls, bottom wall panels, handle means and divider means is formed as sections of a single sheet of laminar stock demarcated by scored lines adapted to allow the sheet to be folded along the creased lines to form each of the sections. A multi-unit foldable carrier which is capable of receiving more than two items in the more than two volumes of the container is provided.

  • Patent number: 4637536
Abstract: This device holds an optical aid such as a pair of binoculars at a user's eyes, without the support of the user's arms and hands. The user applies only small upward or downward pilot force to a point on the device well below the optical aid. To change or maintain the vertical position of the optical aid the user need not even raise the hands above the chest. The device is mechanically articulated so that, guided only by the pilot force which is simply upward or downward, the optical aid can track and follow the user's head and eyes in both position and angle as the user shifts his view up and down between the horizon and the zenith. The device is attached to or worn by the user, while springs or counterbalancing support the weight from the user's torso, to free the user's arms and hands.
