Abstract: A structural member that is adapted to be used as a joist purlin, or girt which is used in a roof, floor, or vertical support. The structural member comprises spaced apart, parallel chords joined to one another by spaced apart struts. Each chord is composed of a pair of angular elements having vertical flanges joined in back to back relation, the vertical flanges being joined to upper flanges which extend in opposite directions from the joined flanges and are either horizontal or inclined to correspond to the pitch of the roof.
