  • Publication number: 20080314605
Abstract: A land roller, and in particular a multiplex land roller including five individual horizontally and longitudinally spaced apart rollers for flattening and leveling agricultural land. The rollers are supported by a pivoting, articulated frame mechanism which allows easy transport of the heavy roller system on ground wheels for purposes of general transportation and ease of implementation into a working arrangement for leveling and rolling land.

  • Patent number: 6460643
Abstract: A high clearance farm tractor is capable of accepting different front attachments to enable it to operate as either a swather or a sprayer. The front and rear sections of the vehicle's chassis are connected by an articulating oscillating joint which permits the vehicle's rear wheels to follow the path of the front wheels while turning thereby reducing damage to crops. The oscillating nature of the joint improves traction by allowing the wheels to always have full contact with the ground. A rear mounted engine counterbalances the weight of a front mounted attachment such as a swather head. The mounting of the cab on the front section of the vehicle away from the engine reduces noise experienced by the operator and permits the operator to have a direct line of sight to the operation of the vehicle. The use of active suspension and chemical application rates permit the vehicle to be transported and operated at higher speeds.

  • Patent number: 5622229
Abstract: A harrow drawbar assembly is described which includes a harrow frame with depending tines and at least one spring strap. The at least one spring strap has a first end and a second end. The second end of the at least one spring strap is secured to the harrow frame. Means is provided for attaching the first end of the at least one spring strap to a drawbar. The at least one spring strap extends substantially horizontally from the drawbar and serves as means by which the harrow frame is pulled by the drawbar. The at least one spring strap exerts a downward pressure upon the harrow frame to maintain the tines of the harrow frame in contact with a ground surface. This harrow drawbar assembly is intended to restrict vertical movement and generally improve the ability of the harrow to follow ground surface contours.

  • Patent number: 5484192
Abstract: A mounting for an axle spindle of an agricultural implement is described which is adjustable between a substantially horizontal travel position and a downwardly inclined field working position. The downwardly inclined position is used in order to enhance performance of the agricultural implement, especially dual wing implements.

  • Patent number: 5477930
Abstract: A mechanism for adjusting the height of a frame of an agricultural implement relative to a groundsurface is described. A parallelogram frame is provided which includes a frame mounted member and a wheel mounting member parallel to the frame mounted member. The frame mounted member is secured in substantially vertical orientation to an end of a transverse support member of the frame of the agricultural implement. A stub axle is secured substantially perpendicularly to a face of the wheel mounting member remote from the transverse support member with a ground engaging wheel rotatably mounted on the stub axle. An expandable jack is mounted to the top of the transverse support member. Upon expansion of the jack a force is exerted upon an upper connecting member causing the parallelogram frame to pivot until a first end of the upper connecting member to which the end of the transverse support member is attached is raised relative to a second end of upper connecting member.

  • Patent number: 4555897
Abstract: A transportable trailing wide-swath wheel-supported implement such as a rock windrower is conveniently able to convert from wide-swath working mode to a transversely narrower folded mode for convenient transport of the implement. The folding elements are a drawbar and the wheel legs, each of these being pivotally attached to the implement frame about a substantially vertical pivotal axis. In working mode, the wheel legs and drawbar are extended at a relatively large acute angle or right angle to the frame whereas in transport mode they pivotally retract to assume relatively small acute angles to the frame. The wheel legs may be locked in either extended or retracted position. Between the drawbar and the frame is preferably pivotally connected a hydraulic piston-cylinder arrangement, permitting the angle of the drawbar to the frame to be adjusted and controlled.

  • Patent number: 4319641
Abstract: A rock picker of the floating rotating reel type has the following features: (1) An intermediate pinion is provided for the drive of the reel at the pivot point for the reel assembly. This enables the reel to pivot to clear obstacles without per se changing the relative driving relationships; center-to-center distances can remain constant regardless of the pivoting of the reel. (2) Loosely attached grille teeth permit rocks to wiggle out from between grille teeth. Each grille tooth is provided with a receptacle and shoulder which bears against an angle-iron transversely located on the frame. Clearance between the receptacle and the angle iron permits wiggling of the teeth to occur. A bolt passing through a spacer flange attached to each tooth prevents the tooth from sliding off the angle iron.

  • Patent number: 4318524
Abstract: A bent bolt clamping arrangement for clamping a mechanism to a beam of rectangular cross-section. Three beam engaging elements lying substantially in a plane are arranged to form a U-shaped configuration to snugly fit three faces of the beam. One of the elements is flanged to form an outwardly flared free end of the U. A bent bolt connects the free ends of the U at right angles, the bent portion of the bolt extending substantially perpendicularly to the flanged element.

  • Patent number: 4220210
Abstract: A tractor front end frame assembly readily detachable from the tractor body for supporting implements such as a front-end bulldozer blade and supported from the tractor by a front central removable attachment capable of pivotal motion about a substantially horizontal axis perpendicular to the rear axle of the tractor and on each side of the rear axle with optional support of the frame provided at about the midway point on the sides of the tractor. The presence of only a pivotal connection at or near the front of the tractor reduces the possibility of damage producing torque to the vehicle in that area.
