  • Publication number: 20050033310
Abstract: An air passageway obstruction device includes a frame structure and a flexible membrane overlying the frame structure. The frame structure is collapsible upon advancement of the device into the air passageway, expandable into a rigid structure upon deploying in the air passageway and re-collapsible upon removal from the air passageway. The flexible membrane obstructs inhaled air flow into a lung portion communicating with the air passageway. The device may be removed after deployment in an air passageway by re-collapsing the device and pulling the device proximally through a catheter.

  • Patent number: 5885255
Abstract: The instant invention pertains to a flexible needle cover which surrounds a hypodermic needle on a syringe so that when the syringe is used the flexible needle cover retracts to expose the needle and after use the flexible needle cover returns back to its original shape covering the needle. The flexible needle cover of the instant invention is a bulb shaped elastomeric material that is capable of retracting during use with the application of slight pressure and returning to its original shape after the release of the pressure.

  • Patent number: 5503178
Abstract: An apparatus for relieving overpressure conditions in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle comprises a valve assembly that is mounted in an opening formed in an exterior wall of the compartment, the assembly includes a frame panel sized to fill the opening and having a passage formed therethrough to define an exhaust from the interior of the compartment to the exterior ambient space. Flap valve elements overlying the exhaust for allowing free flow of air in a direction from the interior of the compartment to the exterior while preventing air flow in the opposite direction. Overpressure relief support connectors mount the frame panel in the opening in the wall and are adapted to release the frame panel from its mounted position whenever the air pressure within the compartment exceeds a predetermined minimum level about atmospheric pressure.
