  • Patent number: 5756937
Abstract: A cover structure which protects the contact pins of connectors which are installed, for example, in a motherboard of a mother circuit panel. More particularly, a removable protective cover for wire wrap pins which are installed in the mother board prevents these pins from bending and electrically shorting together and wherein the removability of the protective cover facilitates ready access to the wire wrap pins to enable installation of additional wire wraps in the field.

  • Patent number: 5668349
Abstract: A roof vent for preventing the buildup of hydrogen gas produced by battery charging in a remote digital telephone cabinet is provided with a movable splash guard for blocking the vent outlet when impinged upon by water and/or wind, thereby preventing the entry of water into the cabinet. The vent also includes a weatherproof cover whose lower edge is formed with scallops or undulations to maintain air gaps between the cover and the cabinet roof.

  • Patent number: 5386346
Abstract: A circuit card assembly adapted to be coupled to a housing for reducing the amount of electromagnetic interference (EMI) escaping from the housing into the environment. The circuit card assembly includes a printed circuit board, an insulative faceplate coupled to the front edge of the printed circuit board, and a shielding assembly. The shielding assembly includes an electrically conductive strip extending along the rear surface of the insulative faceplate, and a grounding path coupled to the printed circuit board and electrically coupled to the conductive strip. The grounding path provides a reliable, solid, positive ground between the conductive strip and the housing upon insertion of the printed circuit board into the housing.

  • Patent number: 4821150
Abstract: A communications termination structure includes a printed circuit board having a front panel with a cable opening and a modular jack receptacle. The board carries all components necessary to accomplish a termination and also carries a rear edge connector and a terminal strip. Groups of terminals on the terminal strip and on the edge connector are interconnected and the modular jack receptacle is similarly connected to a group of terminals on each of those connectors. The board can be independently mounted in a simple housing and wired from the front using the terminal strip and modular jack receptacle. Alternatively, a plurality of such boards can be mounted, without modification, in a rack having a plurality of receptacles for such boards.
