  • Patent number: 9401654
Abstract: A device for modifying an AC voltage has an input for connecting to an AC voltage source and an output for connecting to a load circuit. An interrupter is designed such that, within a time window, the output can be disconnected from the AC voltage source. The time window has a time delay from the zero crossing of the voltage of the AC voltage source. At the output, the device has a terminator that is designed, together with the interrupter, such that the voltage at the output has a predefined or predefinable value in the time window. The device also includes a pulse shape generator for generating a predetermined or predeterminable pulse shape, and a control that actuates the terminator and the interrupter such that the voltage curve at the output can be modified according to the pulse shape predetermined by the pulse shape generator.

  • Patent number: 8988248
Abstract: A method for modulating the effective power in one or several power consuming devices disposed in an A/C system in order to transmit data on a power supply line thereof by specifically varying the effective power in the connected device. In order to transmit the data, the momentary value of the effective power is randomly varied (increased or decreased), and the data is impressed into the A/C supply line by a unit (transmitter or modulator) and is evaluated by another unit (receiver or demodulator).

  • Patent number: 4416919
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and to a method for removing thickenings in layers which are produced transversely to the direction of travel of the web after the coating of continuously moving webs with liquids whereby the coated web is deflected by a web guide element and two air jets pointing towards each other are directed to a small angle .alpha. towards the layer of the web from below the deflecting point as air blades which are actuated when thickenings appear in the layer and which scrape off the particles of the thickening and blow them into a vacuum tank which is sprinkled all over with water and the water and particles are supplied to a vacuum generating device which, in turn, is evacuated by a jet suction device without interrupting the vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4129280
Abstract: A pivot mechanism for a housing laterally arranged at a support, such as a stand or the like, especially a housing for a medical instrument, comprising a first axle body and a second axle body, the second axle body being rotatably mounted at one side or end in the first axle body and at the other side or end is capable of being operatively connected with the housing. The first axle body and the second axle body are mounted in a headpiece such that the housing is horizontally rotatable about an essentially vertical lengthwise axis of the first axle body and vertically pivotable about an essentially horizontal lengthwise axis of the second axle body. The headpiece has at least one friction surface for the horizontal rotational movement and further friction surfaces for the vertical pivotal movement. For braking such movements there is provided but a single resilient element such as a compression or pressure spring.
