  • Publication number: 20200141611
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electric heating element for use in a water storage unit, comprising a metal attaching element for attaching the electric heating element on the water storage unit, an electrically operated heating element, an anode for cathodic corrosion protection, and an adjustable resistor element, wherein the heating element is electrically contacted with the attaching element and/or the water storage unit via the adjustable resistor element, and the heating element and the anode are arranged in physical proximity to one another on the attaching element.

  • Patent number: 7727362
Abstract: The invention pertains to a sacrificial anode for cathodic corrosion protection that comprises an anode body (1), a mounting component (8) for mounting the sacrificial anode on the device to be protected, an insulating component (4) that in certain areas surrounds the anode body (1) and electrically insulates the anode body (1) from the mounting component (8), and a resistive element (9) that is inserted between the anode body (1) and the mounting component (8), where the insulating component (4) is fixed on the mounting component (8). According to the disclosure, a securing component (6) is fixed on the anode body (1) and prevents the anode body (1) from moving out of the insulating component (4). This results in a sacrificial anode of this type that can be reliably operated over its entire service life.

  • Patent number: 5635627
Abstract: In this carbon monoxide sensor, particularly for measuring carbon monoxide in flue gases, which must be operated in a controlled-potential bias circuit and which comprises a working electrode, a counter electrode, and a reference electrode, all of platinum black, as well as an electrolyte connected with these three electrodes, the hydrogen cross-sensitivity is drastically reduced by providing two layers enriched by mercury and/or mercury ions, one on a surface of the working electrode and one of a surface of the reference electrode. These two electrodes are treated with mercury or a mercury compound before or after incorporation into the sensor.

  • Patent number: 4939312
Abstract: A continuous process for the catalytic oxidative coupling in the presence of oxygen or an oxygen containing gas to C.sub.n H.sub.m hydrocarbons (n.gtoreq.2, m=2n or 2n+2) at temperatures between 500.degree. and 900.degree. C., with partial pressures of methane above 0.5 bar and a ratio of the partial pressures of methane and oxygen between 1 and 20 is described. This process uses oxides, peroxides, hyperoxides, hydroxides, carbonates, sulfates, phosphates and silicates of the elements belonging to the 1., 2. and 4. main group of the periodic system as catalysts with and without a support material.
