  • Patent number: 7858889
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for processing mail items transported in a stream on a transport section. The apparatus includes a weighing system which is accessible via the transport section. The weighing system includes a distributor device which divides the stream of mail items into two paths, the paths being joined together again by way of a combining device. A weighing section is provided in the first of the two paths for the automatic weight determination of the mail items, and the second path is configured to bypass the weighing section, with no weighing taking place in the bypass. In other embodiments, a calming/settling section is provided immediately prior to or after the weighing section. The mail items are transported in a clamped manner on one edge over the weighing section, whereas in the settling section, the mail items are transported on one edge while leaning against one of the lateral guide belts.

  • Publication number: 20100114364
Abstract: The present teachings relate to techniques and equipment for mail item processing. More particularly, the present teachings provide for a method and system for the sorting of mixed mail items. Multiple sort schemes are loaded on a mixed mail sorter for different clients. A first sorting run, controlled with a first sort scheme, is conducted such that the mail items for a first client are transported to a first sub-set of mail sort bins. After the first sorting run is ended, a switchover is performed such that a second sorting run, which is carried out with another sort scheme, can be started, thereby reducing the changeover times between sorting runs.

  • Publication number: 20050056574
Abstract: Method for equipping a machine, especially for loading a letter sorting machine, which at the beginning comprises a conveying device for the delivery of singled incoming goods. The incoming goods are flat goods, namely letters 1, which are delivered to an unloading device while heaped in a box 2. The box 2 is seized by the unloading device, emptied and singled out of the processing cycle. The removed heap 1a is levelled by the unloading device into a stack flush on two sides. The stack is delivered to the conveying device, and the emptied stack 1a is seized by a grab 5, which seizes the emptied stack 1a by means of clamping it between two seizing hands 6 and leads it towards further treatment.

  • Patent number: 6575062
Abstract: An accommodating head for a tool which has an actuating tip and is intended for turning fastening elements, the tool having a drive element and an output element, it being possible for a torque to be introduced into the drive element and the tool being arranged in a rotationally fixed and pivotably mounted manner in the output element. In torque transmission from the actuating tip to the fastening element, the distance between the pivot axis of the actuating tip of the tool and the fastening element is small enough for the line of action of a force running along a longitudinal center axis of the output element to intersect the fastening element even in each pivoting end position of the tool and the actuating tip thereof.

  • Patent number: 5769900
Abstract: Mixtures of various starch-degrading enzymes (amylases) which comprise at least one high temperature amylase (HTA) and at least one low temperature amylase (LTA) in an activity ratio of HTA to LTA of 10%:90% to 90%:10% develop at least 60% of their maximum activity in the temperature range from 30.degree. to 90.degree. C. Such mixtures can be diluted with water and treated with customary additives. These mixtures are suitable for desizing textiles sized with starch by treatment of the textiles with the mixtures mentioned and subsequent rinsing.

  • Patent number: 5558812
Abstract: Liquid enzyme formulations which contain the enzyme in the form of aqueous enzyme particle suspension, colloidal fillers and a liquid alkylene oxide polymer based on ethylenediamine and having a molecular weight in the range from 500 to 8200. The liquid enzyme formulations of the invention may contain any enzyme customarily incorporated in detergents or used for cleaning purposes, especially alkaline proteases. Processes for preparing such liquid enzyme formulations and for using them in liquid detergents and/or cleaners are also disclosed.
