  • Patent number: 7654766
Abstract: A ball joint, in particular for the wheel suspension systems of motor vehicles, an external, essentially cylindrical housing, an internal joint piece with a pin supporting a ball section and a bearing race surrounding the ball section, is retained in the cylindrical housing and has annular seals on both sides of the pin ends. In order to achieve a hydraulic damping function, annular gaps are provided about the pin adjacent to the ball section, filled directly or indirectly with a damping fluid.

  • Publication number: 20040146337
Abstract: The invention relates to a ball joint, in particular for wheel suspensions of motor vehicles, having an outer more or less cylindrical housing, an inner joint element having a ball pivot bearing a ball section, and a bearing ring enclosing the ball section, such bearing ring being retained in the cylindrical housing, and having annular seals on both sides of the ends of the ball pivots, annular gaps which are indirectly or directly filled with a damping fluid being formed around the ball pivots adjacent to the ball section in order to achieve a hydraulic damping function.

  • Patent number: 4469316
Abstract: A mount for securing together two relatively displaceable bodies, such as a motor-vehicle engine and a vehicle chassis, with limited relative freedom of movement has a substantially closed liquid-filled chamber formed by a first resiliently deformable wall and a second wall which may be rigid or resiliently deformable. A partition subdivides this chamber into a pair of compartments and has an elastically deformable and relatively stiff portion and an elastically deformable and relatively yieldable portion. One of these portions is formed with a throughgoing orifice. Stops are provided on each side of the relatively yieldable portion to limit the deflection thereof so that low-amplitude vibrations are not transmitted between the bodies, but high-amplitude vibrations are damped when the yieldable portion abuts the stops.

  • Patent number: 4199128
Abstract: A vibration-absorbing mount with hydraulic damping, especially for mounting an internal-combustion engine upon a vehicle chassis, comprises a housing subdivided internally by an elastic wall which is connected with the force-transmitting member of the mount and is formed with an orifice enabling fluid to pass between the two chambers. For small pressure differentials, the pressure equalization between the two chambers is effected substantially by transfer of fluid through the orifice while large pressure differentials, representing high frequency oscillations, are damped primarily by deformation of the movable wall.
