  • Patent number: 9119587
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the improved display of digital mammographic images, which were measured in the context of a mammographic imaging system and displayed on a workstation monitor. The mammogram consists of a plurality of pixels with each pixel having a pixel value assigned thereto. The pixel values of all pixels of the mammogram lie within a pre-determined first range of values and the pixel values of pixels of a subsection of the mammogram lie within a second range of values, which represents a subset of the first range of values. A mammogram having a subsection with increased contrast, such that the second range of pixel values of the pixels in the subsection are spread by a spreading function, whereby the amount of the spreading function changes over the subsection. In this way, an improved display is created, by means of those representations of the mammogram regarding their contrast in subsections being optimized, at the same time the representation for a user is improved without artifacts.

  • Patent number: 8882416
Abstract: This application is directed to groove milling devices for milling a groove in a component. In one example, a groove milling device includes a milling disk which is rotatable about a rotational axis, wherein the groove milling device comprises a displacement device for moving the milling disk along the rotational axis during the milling process. In an example, the groove milling device may include a control device which actuates the displacement device automatically when a predetermined depth of the milled groove is reached during the milling process. In an example, the groove milling device may include a switch for activating the displacement device by an operator during the milling process. In an example, the energy required for actuating the displacement device may be generated by a generator coupled to a main drive spindle of the groove milling device.

  • Patent number: 8428324
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing digital mammographic images. The method and apparatus providing comparable mammographic images regardless of the imaging device generating the raw mammographic images. The processed mammographic images may be displayed with optimal global and local contrast, enhanced sharpness, and without the need to apply window level settings or data from lookup tables. A second mammographic image is generated out of a processed first mammographic image in such a way that the projected object, the breast, is more perceptible and obvious for a physician or other medical professional reviewing the mammographic image.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for improved display of digital mammographic images, which include at least two mammograms that represent different orientation views on a display. It is intended that a place on a mammographic image of a first orientation view and a correspondence strip (4) on a mammographic image of a second orientation view is determined. The correspondence strip indicates a range in the mammographic image of the second orientation view in which the place of the mammographic image of a first orientation view may be located. The method and apparatus are made available for the improved display of digital mammograms, which the display of the mammograms may be improved in way that is intuitive for a user in such a way that the review of mammograms is made easier.

  • Patent number: 6896036
Abstract: To prevent movement of a ceramic core in a ceramic shell for the investment casting of a turbine blade, the free end of the core has one or more pins embedded therein so that the pins project into both the core and the ceramic shell which is applied over a wax layer. After removal of the wax and firing of the shell, molten metal is cast in the space left by the wax between the core and the shell. After hardening of the metal, the outwardly projecting part of the pins are removed during the machining of the surfaces of the turbine blade blank.

  • Patent number: 6354360
Abstract: A device for directional solidification of a fused metal, for example a CoCrAlY alloy, which has been poured into a molding shell, by moving the molding shell out of a heating chamber and by immersing the molding shell in a liquid-metal bath serving as a cooling melt with a lower melting-point than the fused metal in the molding shell, for example tin. The liquid-metal bath is enclosed by several current carrying toroidal coils arranged coaxially relative to one another. For the purpose of orienting the stream filament of the agitated fused metal one or more guide plates are arranged in the space between the lateral circumferential surface of the molding shell and the inner wall of the shell containing the liquid-metal bath which is located opposite the molding shell.

  • Patent number: 6315670
Abstract: A joint body includes at least one loop package and collar bushings each having a bushing member and a first collar formed integrally thereon. The bushing members of the collar bushings are passed through the loop package, and the collars thereof axially support a first loop package side. A second collar axially supports a second loop package side and is axially joined with each bushing member. The collar bushing has at an end of the bushing member remote from the first collar a radial outer catching arrangement. A radial inner catching arrangement is provided on the second collar which forms a snap connection together with the radial outer catching arrangement. The loop package is at least partially embedded in a rubber elastic jacket.

  • Patent number: 6068555
Abstract: A flexible disc is arranged between first and second flanges each designed to be secured to a shaft, the flexible disc being alternately fixed at angular spacings to one each of the flanges. A torsional vibration suppressor is associated with one of the two flanges and has a suppressor collar integrally formed with the flange, a gyrating mass, and a rubber spring suspension system which is secured by vulcanization to the suppressor collar and the gyrating mass. A centering device having a centering collar formed integrally with the flange, a centering body rigidly connected to the other flange, and a rubber spring suspension system secured by vulcanization to the centering collar, is provided for mutually centering the two shafts. This obviates the need for expensive fits or matches and facilitates the assembly of the shaft coupling.

  • Patent number: 5551494
Abstract: A device for making patches, especially of wood, and for patching resin galls on pieces of wood, comprising a rotatably drivable milling tool, which is rotatably driveable by means of a first driving unit and is held on a supporting frame. Also disposed on the supporting frame is a clamping device, which is rotatable about a rotational axis. A remnant of the workpiece to be patched can be clamped in this clamping device and, by means of rotation about the rotational axis, can be led past the milling tool during which the lateral surface of the remnant is milled. Afterwards the clamping device can be lifted, the remnant being again led past the milling tool, the lateral surface being milled. Afterwards the patch made in this way can be detached.
