  • Patent number: 8351008
Abstract: A liquid crystal display is provided with several drive segments, between which at least one intermediate surface without drive segments is situated. Such liquid crystal displays are used, in particular, for displaying information contents of low information density, for example, as numerical display elements. This realizes, among other things, a simple and cost-efficient improvement of the electrostatic properties and the legibility, namely also under unfavorable light conditions. For this purpose, the intermediate surface is largely provided with at least one conductive auxiliary layer and a high-frequency connection between the auxiliary layer and a shielding potential is produced.

  • Publication number: 20120002442
Abstract: A display apparatus is provided for a vehicle and a method for manufacturing the display apparatus. The display apparatus includes, but is not limited to a display screen and a background lighting. Illuminated characters are disposed, imaged, or activated on the display screen. The background lighting of the display screen includes, but is not limited to illuminants which emit light into a light guide body. The light guide body is disposed on a rear side of the display screen. The light guide body includes, but is not limited to a light guide plate made of an optically transparent plastic compound, in which optically non-transparent partitions for light guide zones of the light guide body, which are optically shielded from one another, are introduced.

  • Patent number: 5329753
Abstract: A corn harvesting implement for a field chopping machine has a drawing-in trough, a plurality of transporting passages supported on the drawing-in trough, the transporting passages including at least two outer transporting passages which are foldable upwardly to a transporting position for obtaining a smaller transporting width and foldable outwardly to a working position. The transporting passages also include stationary transporting passages. The transporting passages are arranged so that in the working position a predetermined distance is provided between at a part of at least one of the upwardly foldable transporting passages and at least a part of a neighboring part of the stationary transporting passages. Means for increasing the distance at least before a beginning of folding the upwardly foldable passages from the working position to the transporting position is provided.

  • Patent number: 4353723
Abstract: A filter pack for the purification of air and gases comprises an undulating sheet of elastic fleece, e.g. one made from polyester fibers, sandwiched between two sets of similarly folded parallel retaining strips interspersed with the undulations of the sheet so that each strip forms a plurality of integrally interconnected U-shaped pleats with the legs of adjacent pleats closely juxtaposed. The strips, or at least outer surface layers thereof, consist of heat-fusible material enabling the closely juxtaposed legs of their pleats to be thermally bonded together after pleating. The strips may also be made from fleece so that bonding takes place only at contact points between their fibers, allowing the filtered fluid to pass both between and through the strips. Similar bonding may take place between the strips and the sheet.
