  • Patent number: 5344212
Abstract: An opposing passenger-infant seat system for public transportation such as aircraft is disclosed, wherein an infant seat is near a passenger seat. The passenger seat is suitable for receiving an adult. The infant seat and the adult seat are arranged to be essentially facing each other. The infant seat is attached typically to an aircraft cabin partition by an adapter and is installed in a plane above the seat cushion of the adult seat. A space is provided between the infant seat and the adult seat which is smaller than the average length of a human arm.

  • Patent number: 5322244
Abstract: A supply system for passenger aircraft uses one or more catering containers which are loaded with the aid of the aircraft's loading system into the cargo hold of the passenger aircraft and positioned in vertical alignment with a supply distribution and work cabin on the passenger deck or floor of the aircraft. A horizontal conveying system is capable of moving transport carts or standardized packages in the directions of a rectangular coordinate system for bringing carts or packages into a lifting position. A vertical lift cooperates with the horizontal conveyor system for bringing trolleys initially held in the carts or standardized packages into the distribution and work cabin. Instead of equipping the catering container with a horizontal conveyor system that works in the X- and Y-direction, it is possible to use any other robot system for retrieving standardized packages and/or trolleys from the catering container.

  • Patent number: 4774514
Abstract: On board functions are performed in an aircraft with the aid of a central control computer connected to a plurality of input and output devices including data terminals for passengers and flight attendants, through a data bus system and through decoder/encoder units linking the data terminals to the data bus system for providing an operation with digital signals. Thus, digital signals are transmitted back and forth between the central control computer and the data terminals in such a way that computations initiated on a data terminal are performed by the central control computer and so that the computation results and any other information are displayed on a display field forming part of the data terminals, one of which is provided at each passenger seat. Modified terminals are provided at various other locations within the aircraft cabin for use by a flight attendant.

  • Patent number: 4660787
Abstract: A food supply system is adapted for installation in an aircraft having an upper and a lower deck. A pantry is located on the upper deck. A food supply carts carrying platform is arranged on the lower deck for cooperation with the pantry on the upper deck. A lifting mechanism is arranged for cooperation with the platform for lifting or lowering selectively any one of a plurality of food supply carts whereby the space requirements on each deck are optimally reduced.
