  • Patent number: 8731818
Abstract: A navigation system for motor vehicles includes a receiving unit for receiving traffic messages to which a location information object is in each case assigned. A display unit for displaying a digital road map and a control unit. The control unit is coupled to the receiving unit and the display unit, and is operatively configured such that cutouts of a digital road map to which the traffic messages relate are successively displayed of the display.

  • Patent number: 8165805
Abstract: In the case of a system for marking a region within an image of a road map detail displayed on a vehicle video screen, a regional location can first be selected by a control element. The region, which represents one of several administrative levels, can be constantly fixed via an enter function of the control element. The administrative level and thereby the size of the region can be changed by a rotational movement of the control element, which can be rotated about a longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 7840349
Abstract: A navigation system has a display device for displaying a predefined maximal number of graphic driving lane objects. A control device is operatively configured such that the actual number of driving lanes of a street or road is determined, and only a maximal number of graphic driving lane objects is displayed on the display device when the maximal number is smaller than the actual number of driving lanes.

  • Patent number: 7698056
Abstract: In the case of a method for the input of input data into a vehicle navigation device, by which input data are supplied to the vehicle navigation device by way of a receive interface and the input data are subjected to a plausibility check, in the event of a negative plausibility check, a prompt is emitted for correcting the input data. The input data can be corrected by a user via an operating device, and the corrected input data are imported into the vehicle navigation device.

  • Publication number: 20090240425
Abstract: In the case of a system for marking a region within an image of a road map detail displayed on a vehicle video screen, the regions are shown in a circular shape. The center and the dimensions of the region can be changed by a control element, which can be rotated about a longitudinal axis and can be deflected transversely to the longitudinal axis. As a result of the transverse movement of the control element, the position of the center point and, as a result of the rotating movement of the control element, the dimensions of the region within the video screen, are adjustable.

  • Publication number: 20080046178
Abstract: A vehicle navigation system is provided having a display unit for displaying an animated route preview, a rotating element for influencing the speed of the animated route preview, and a control unit, which works together with the display unit and the rotating element such that the influence of the speed of the animated route preview is based on a rotational angle of the rotating element.

  • Patent number: 6424672
Abstract: An electric arc furnace (1), wherein solids are injected into the furnace chamber. The lances (9, 10, 11) are guided through the wall (12) of the electric arc furnace (1) and inserted into the wall of the furnace, whereby at least one lance is associated with each electrode (2, 3, 4), in order to enable a homogenous formation of slag and to inject as great an amount of solids as possible. The lances are distributed in an approximately uniform manner along the periphery of the furnace. The inclination of the lances and thus the angle of injection are selected in such a way that they form an angle of approximately 30-80° in relation to the flow direction of the melting bath and form an angle of approximately 10-30° in relation to the horizontal.

  • Patent number: 6400748
Abstract: In order to operate an electric arc furnace (1) in optimum conditions, especially in order to build up and maintain a certain intensity of foamed slag, the amount of slag builder fed into the furnace (1) and therefore the power consumption of the furnace (1) is regulated according to the current received by the electrodes (2) in such a way that a maximum amount of slag builder is initially added in order to build up said foamed slag until the amount of current received by the electrodes (2) is reduced. Subsequently, the amount of added slag builder is reduced until the amount of current received reaches a predetermined set value. The theoretical amount of current received is kept constant by reducing or increasing the added amount of slag builder.

  • Patent number: 6379415
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for feeding solids into metal or steel melts whereby granular solids required during the analysis adjustment are fed in a predetermined quantity into the turbulent regions of the metal melt in a dense flow process by means of a pneumatic conveying device in order to achieve a high output while avoiding expensive and complex measures associated with lances and capital-intensive investments for injection devices and lance-moving devices.

  • Patent number: 4493102
Abstract: System for routing stereo radio frequency signals over alternate audio channels in response to detection of an interference in one of the stereo signals. The system delays the radio signals during which time it detects whether an interference has corrupted one of the radio signals. If a corruption has occured, the system switches the non-corrupted signal to an active one of the audio channels so that the interference is prevented from being reproduced prior to reaching an audio output.
