  • Publication number: 20110138741
Abstract: The dispensing assembly comprises a double cartridge having two storage containers with bags placed therein, a mixer that is connectable to the cartridge, and an opening means acting upon the bag. The opening means is arranged on the mixer housing and rotatable with respect to the cartridge and in one exemplary embodiment has a cutting member with two knife-edges that are arranged essentially parallelly to and spaced apart from the longitudinal axis and provided with cutting edges. Thanks to the rotatable knife-edges, such a cutting member allows a clean and predetermined opening of the bags and a dispensing operation with minimum pressure losses and lost volumes.

  • Patent number: 5330079
Abstract: A dispensing cartridge having a retaining flange connected to an end thereof, the retaining flange including at least two flat portions disposed in parallel planes, and a plurality of webs connecting the flat portions. The retaining flange is designed as a box construction with outwardly open hollow spaces having constant or increasing rectangular cross-sections in a direction perpendicular to the dispensing flow direction. The webs connecting the flat portions may be in two sets, with the webs in one set extending perpendicular to the webs in the other set. The retaining flange may be manufactured by injection molding. The box construction design of the flange requires only slightly more material than a single retaining flange, yet provides a gain in stability that allows simpler and more economical adapters of the dispensing appliances to be used.

  • Patent number: 5123568
Abstract: The dispensing appliance customarily built in "pistol form" for double cartridges with plungers has a pressure medium-driven cylinder unit with rams extendings from a piston for the forward drive of the plungers. In order to prevent "tilting" or jamming of the piston in the cylinder, a rigid longitudinal guide is provided between both cylinder ends against which guide the piston is slidingly supported with a longitudinally extending guide bore. The longitudinal guide simultaneously reinforces the cylinder and feeds the pressure medium into the pressure chamber behind the piston by way of a longitudinal channel. Further, a retrieval mechanism for the piston for ram relief after each forward thrust as well as an indicator element for the cartridge fill-level, are provided. The indicator element includes a long rod that connects to the piston and extends through the cylinder and its cylinder wall adjacent to the cartridge. A moving indicator is visible in a guideway that is co-extensive with the cartridges.
