  • Publication number: 20240118225
Abstract: Computer implemented method for determining boundary thermal resistance data (Rbl) of a boundary layer (15), comprising the following steps: obtaining first temperature data (T1) from a first temperature sensor (13), which is arranged at a first pipe section (S1); obtaining second temperature data (T2) from a second temperature sensor (14), which is arranged at a second pipe section (S2); wherein the first temperature sensor (13) and the second temperature sensor (14) are non-invasive temperature sensors; providing process condition data (P); determining boundary thermal resistance data (Rbl) of a boundary layer (15) of the fluid (11) next to an inner surface (16) of the wall of the pipe (12) based on the process condition data (P) and/or based on the first temperature data (T1) and/or the second temperature data (T2).

  • Publication number: 20240024674
Abstract: A system comprising a controller for providing and receiving signalling to and from at least one electrical stimulation, ES, system, comprising an electrode array for applying an electrical stimulation to a muscle and one or more sensors for detecting a response of the muscle; the ES system is configured to selectively operate the electrode array in one of a motor point scan mode or a stimulation mode, wherein: in the motor point scan mode a plurality of scan measurements are taken between different pairs of electrodes; and based on measurement signalling of each scan measurement, the controller is configured to identify a first stimulation electrode and a second stimulation electrode; and in the stimulation mode a plurality of stimulation signals are applied to the first and second stimulation electrodes to provide for contraction of the muscle.

  • Patent number: 5003835
Abstract: A torque support for drives riding on trunnions, in particular for converter tilt drives, including a gear housing mounted on the trunnion which is rotatable about an axis of rotation, a drive motor attached by a flange or bolting to a step-down gearing which engages, via pinion, with a larger gear wheel fixed for rotation on the trunnion. The torque support includes a pair of guide rods located symmetrically to the axis of rotation of the trunnion, each guide rod includes a first and second oppositely positioned part, the first and second rod part have an upper and lower end and a respective free end opposite thereto; the upper ends are pivotally mounted on the gear housing and the lower ends are connected to each other via either a compression-tension bar or torsion shaft, upon which the lower ends are pivotally mounted.

  • Patent number: 4491074
Abstract: A vehicle for transporting heavy loads on parallel tracks is disclosed. Two of the wheels of the vehicle are fixedly mounted to the vehicle frame, while the remaining wheels are mounted so that they can vertically adjust to deviations in the height of the rail track. In this manner, heavy loads can be transported on the rail tracks without any particular wheel becoming overloaded. In the preferred embodiment, the adjustable wheels are supported by bell crank levers which are themselves connected to one another by a parallelogram linkage arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4478102
Abstract: A tilt drive is provided for a metallurgical vessel which is mounted on a large sprocket wheel driven by two or more reduction gears. The reduction gears are joined by a torque equalizing apparatus which transmits torque from the pinion of one gear to the pinion of the other, thus acting as a forced synchronizer. The torque equalizing apparatus is effective in both the dynamic and static operations of the drive.

  • Patent number: 4467666
Abstract: A torque support is provided having a casing supported by a pair of symmetrically arranged steering rods which are pivotally mounted to a pair of upwardly slanted guide rods. The guide rods are pivotally supported on a base member. Inter-connecting the guide rods and the steering rods is a tension-compression rod capable of absorbing tensile and compressive forces. All of the elements of the torque support are provided above floor level. The tension-compression rod is constructed as a plurality of elongated sections, separated from one another by gaps. Located within the elongated sections are compressive spring bundles and a shaft bolt which is secured to supporting surfaces of the elongated sections. In this manner, compressive and tensile forces are cpable of being absorbed by the tension-compression rod.

  • Patent number: 4215852
Abstract: The invention refers to an apparatus for locking a converter tilting gear during a blasting operation, which apparatus is provided with a supplementary gear arrangement to facilitate counterrotation of pinions arranged in pairs versus the pivot pin gear wheel, so that the pinions may be locked and loosened by means of arresting brakes. The arrangement is such that the gear trains for the individual drive pinions can pivot in relation to the position of the pivot pin gear wheel in synchronized fashion to accommodate play between the cooperating gear teeth.
