  • Patent number: 6681429
Abstract: A method to treat laundry items in the last treatment zone of a tunnel washing machine with a liquid that has a higher temperature than the liquid of the preceding zone, resulting in the liquid of the bound liquor having a higher temperature and making it possible to remove a greater portion of the bound liquor form the laundry items in a hydroextraction press, so that the laundry items leaving the hydroextraction press have only a slight residual moisture which is still has to be removed by drying, thus shortening the drying process and requiring less energy.

  • Patent number: 6671915
Abstract: Tunnel washing machines (10) are equipped with a rotary driven drum (12), through which the laundry to be subjected to wet treatment is conveyed longitudinally. For achieving the greatest possible performance in treatment, the goal is to drive the drum (12) at the highest possible circumferential speed. However, the result of this is that the laundry is not (completely) thrown off the paddle blades (21) in the drum (12). This, has a negative effect on the results of treatment. The method according to the invention proposes that the drum (12) be driven with different circumferential speeds. When the laundry is thrown off the paddle blades (21) the drum (12) and its circumferential speed is thereby considerably reduced, thus causing the laundry to drop from the paddle blades (21) in a complete and reliable manner.

  • Publication number: 20020148145
Abstract: Trough mangles, which are used in commercial laundries, are intended to have the highest possible mangle performance. The mangle performance of known trough mangles is increased by a plurality of mangle rolls (10) being arranged one after another. Such a trough mangle then has two or else a still greater number of mangle rolls (10). Trough mangles of this type require the pieces of laundry to be transferred from one mangle roll (10) to the other. In practice, this often leads to operating problems.

  • Publication number: 20020116770
Abstract: Laundry items washed and, if necessary, aftertreated in the tunnel washing machine (10) are, upon leaving the tunnel washing machine (10), freed from a portion of the liquid clinging to them (bound liquor) in a hydroextraction press (21). The remaining portion of the bound liquor is removed from the laundry items by subsequent drying, a process which consumes much time and energy.

  • Publication number: 20020104172
Abstract: In the case of continuous-process washing machines (10), the treatment liquid used is conducted together with the items of laundry (11) through a drum (12) in the treatment direction (17), and in the process the items of laundry (11) are transferred together with the treatment liquid from, for example, a washing chamber (18) to a rinsing chamber (19). This leads to some of the washing liquid being mixed with the rinsing liquid, which has a disadvantageous effect on the rinsing process.

  • Publication number: 20020083742
Abstract: Continuous washing machines (10) for industrial use have an inner drum (11), which can be driven in circulation, and an outer drum (22) which partially encloses said inner drum. The outer drum (22) is formed from outer-drum sections (24) which are to sealed in relation to the inner drum (11).
