  • Patent number: 4557544
Abstract: Electrical terminal for connecting a lead wire to a varnish insulated wire extending from a coil comprises first and second plate-like members in aligned spaced-apart relationship. The plate-like members are connected by spaced-apart straps extending between corresponding ends of the members and aligned slots extend inwardly from the ends so that a coil wire can be moved relatively between the straps and into the slots. A pair of stabilizing ears extend from the side edges of one of the plate-like members towards and past the side edges of the other plate-like member thereby to strengthen and stabilize the box-like structure. A connecting member is provided for connecting a lead wire to the terminal. This connecting member may comprise a tab or lance extending from one of the ears transversely across the entire width of the box-like structure towards the other ear so that a wire can be inserted between the end of the tab and the interior surface of the ear.

  • Patent number: 4534613
Abstract: Receptacle terminal has substantially flat web portion and has contact springs which extend in one direction from the side edge portion of the web. The contact springs extend inwardly over the web and have end portions which are spaced from the web and which engage an inserted tab. A first pair of positioning ears are provided at the mating end of the terminal and extend inwardly of the web and towards each other. A second pair of positioning ears are formed from the contact springs and extend towards each other. The positioning ears locate a tab centrally on the web. A locking lance is struck from the web and serves to lock an inserted tab to the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4449773
Abstract: A connector housing (1) has a row of cavities (4) bordering a slot (2) for receipt of a flat cable. Contacts (3) are mounted in the cavities with rearwardly inclined contact springs (7) penetrating the slot (2). An integrally hinged flap (11) on the housing is of L-section, with one limb (14) bordering the slot (2) and providing a cam surface (15) engaging the contact spring (7). Manual depression of the flap (11) deflects the contact spring (7) out of the slot (2) to permit low force insertion of the cable.
