  • Publication number: 20160025834
Abstract: A magnetic resonance data acquisition unit is operated according to an imaging protocol wherein at least one echo spacing exists following radiation of an excitation RF pulse, via an RF channel that includes an RF amplifier, and a subsequent readout of an echo. Loading of the RF amplifier is reduced by lengthening the echo spacing in the imaging protocol. One or more refocusing RF pulses are radiated with a lengthened echo spacing.

  • Publication number: 20150212171
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for acquiring a magnetic resonance image data set of a scan area of an examination subject, the image data are acquired with a magnetic resonance apparatus having a transmitter coil that emits a radio-frequency signal having at least two transmission channels so that different polarizations of the radio-frequency signal are produced, and a magnetic resonance sequence is used to acquire raw data for the magnetic resonance image data set, wherein raw data are acquired during at least two scanning operations with the magnetic resonance sequence, with different polarizations of the radio-frequency signals being used for at least two of the at least two scanning operations, following which the magnetic resonance image data set is determined by averaging the raw data.

  • Patent number: 8712714
Abstract: In a method and a computer-readable storage medium to optimize protocol parameters for an MR measurement protocol, the user can configure conditions for selected physical parameters in advance. Moreover, it is possible to configure rules for these parameters and/or for the conditions. In a next step physical values regarding the selected parameters are measured. The measured values are then applied to the configured conditions and/or rules in order to optimize the protocol parameters.

  • Publication number: 20140084921
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for automatic magnetic resonance imaging of a patient, an MR overall image is composed from several MR partial images. An MR overview image is received by a process that determines several scanning ranges based on the MR overview image. The MR scanning ranges are characterized by a length along a first direction. For all MR scanning ranges: the length along the first direction is set equal to the length of the longest MR scanning range in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 7705597
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for acquiring magnetic resonance data, a region of a subject is exposed to a spin echo magnetic resonance pulse sequence that includes a refocusing radio-frequency pulse flip angle evolution that causes magnetic resonance signals to be emitted from the region with a signal evolution following each excitation radio-frequency pulse. The signal evolution is sampled to extract two or more sets of sampled data therefrom respectively with different contrast weightings of tissues in the region. The multiple sets of sampled data are made available as respective outputs in a form allowing multiple different images of the region to be generated therefrom, respectively with said different contrast weightings. For example, a spin density-weighted image and a T2-weighted image, or a T2-weighted image and a heavily T2-weighted image, thus can be generated by sampling from the same variable-flip-angle echo train.
