  • Publication number: 20170361432
Abstract: A torque delivering power tool with a telescopically arranged output shaft includes a motor, a housing, an input shaft and an output shaft. A sensor is arranged to monitor an axial position of the output shaft with respect to the input shaft. The output shaft is telescopically arranged with respect to the input shaft between a fully extended position (PE) and a fully compressed position (PC). A resilient member having a known resilience in function of an extension is arranged to urge the output shaft towards the fully extended position (PE), such that the extension of the output shaft continuously reflects a compression force acting between the output shaft and the input shaft. An indication unit is arranged to indicate an axial compression force acting between the output shaft and the input shaft based on a level of extension between the shafts.

  • Patent number: 9751177
Abstract: A drive arrangement in a pneumatic power tool includes a pneumatic motor with an output shaft, and a spindle for mounting a cutting element and which externally includes both a thread and an axial groove. A drive rotation of the spindle is driven by a drive gear that is engaged with the axial groove on the spindle and that is drivingly connected to the output shaft so as to rotate at a constant speed with respect to the output shaft. A feed gear is threaded upon the spindle and may be rotated with respect to the spindle in order to advance and retract the spindle. The feed gear is driven by one intermediate feed gear which is interchangeably drivingly connectable to the output shaft via a first and a second gear connection, respectively, so as to advance or retract the spindle.

  • Patent number: 9731393
Abstract: A power tool includes a pneumatic motor with an output shaft, a spindle that is drivingly connected to the output shaft via a drive gear to provide a rotational movement to the spindle and via a feed gear to provide a translational movement to the spindle. A cylinder that governs the gear transmission to the feed gear is arranged to be translated between a retraction gearing position and an advancement gearing position. The retraction gearing includes a retraction torque limiting coupling adapted to be released when an operational torque (T) exceeds a retraction threshold torque (TR) in order to terminate retraction. A lock mechanism is arranged to selectively block the cylinder in the retraction gearing position through engagement between a tooth of a ratchet on the lock mechanism and a shoulder on the cylinder. The lock mechanism assures that the cylinder is kept in the retraction gearing position during an initial phase of the retraction of the spindle.

  • Publication number: 20120275871
Abstract: An improved pneumatic ADE-machine with a built-in logic has a clutch in the power transmission chain between a first drive gear and a second driven gear. The clutch includes two clutch parts (D, F), whereof a first part (D) is axially biased by a spring (C). Movable elements (E) are arranged between the clutch parts, which transfer the rotation from the first to the second clutch part, and an actuator (H) is arranged in connection with the first spring biased clutch part (D). When a feed force on a drill during drilling exceeds the biasing force of the spring, the movable elements displace the spring biased clutch part axially, which triggers the actuator (H) to send a corresponding signal to the machine logic.
