  • Patent number: 5981819
Abstract: A feed mixture containing C.sub.4 -olefins to C.sub.7 -olefins is evaporated and mixed with steam in a weight ratio of H.sub.2 O:hydrocarbons in the range from 0.5:1 to 3:1. The steam containing feed mixture with an inlet temperature in the range from 380.degree. to 500.degree. C. is introduced into a reactor, which contains a bed of granular, form-selective zeolite catalyst. The zeolite is of the pentasil type and has an atomic ratio of Si:Al of 10:1 to 200:1. From the bed a product mixture is withdrawn whose temperature is 20.degree. to 80.degree. lower than the inlet temperature, and whose total content of propylene and butene isomers is at least 60 wt-% of the olefinic constituents of the feed mixture.

  • Patent number: 5634698
Abstract: An ABS which evaluates slip values prescribes pressure values for the wheel brakes. In order to improve the driving stability, these pressure values are varied by a brake controller using the deviation of the yawing speed from a set value and the front-axle steering angle as input variables. The brake controller determines its output values (variation values) with the aid of the fuzzy logic. Additionally, rear-axle steering is integrated into the system, the system partially also using fuzzy logic. Subsequently, an adaptation which is based on fuzzy logic and uses the brake controller and the rear-axle steering controller in a weighted fashion is proposed.

  • Patent number: 5401301
Abstract: The invention describes a device for transporting materials which has at least a first pipe (I) and a second pipe (II), each having a six-cornered, honeycomb-shaped flow cross section, the first pipe (I) having at least two first wall parts (1) which are not arranged adjacent to one another and whose longitudinal edges (1') are arranged at a first distance (a) from the connection point (3) between the first wall part (1) and the adjacent second wall part (2), which connection point (3) is nearest to the longitudinal edge (1'). Plate-shaped brackets (4) are arranged at the sides of the first wall parts (1) remote of the materials to be transported at a second distance (c) from the nearest longitudinal edge (1'). The angle (.alpha.) of inclination between the plane of the bracket (4) and the plane of the first wall part (1) is 60.degree., and the second pipe (II) has at least one corresponding first wall part (1) which is arranged parallel to the second wall part (2) of the first pipe (I).

  • Patent number: 4549032
Abstract: A process for producing styrene by the dehydrogenation of ethyl benzene whereby the ethyl benzene in a mixture with steam is introduced into a tubular reactor, the tubes of which are heated by molten salts. The structural parameters of this process are the tube diameter which should be 20 to 35 millimeters, the temperature of the molten salts which should be 580.degree. to 660.degree. C. and at most 20.degree. C. higher than the reaction temperature at the catalyst and the weight ratio of steam to ethyl benzene of the feed stock which should be 0.5 to 1. The process saves energy and increases efficiency by reducing the steam consumption.
