  • Patent number: 6197236
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of fiberboards from coarse wood particles and isocyanate as binder, in which the wood particles are heated under excess water vapor pressure and simultaneously comminuted to fibers which are then delivered with expansion to a drier by means of a blowing pipe, and dried in the drier.

  • Patent number: 5008057
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a method for producing a structure, more particularly a wooden structure, in the surface of a hardened fibreboard, especially a medium-density fibreboard; it comprises the steps of: applying a resin-water mix to the surface of the fibreboard on one or both sides to soften and penetrate into the surface of the fibreboard; and pressing the fibreboard with a short-cycle press, under the action of pressure and heat, and using a structured pressure-plate. The water-part of the resin-water mix is caused to evaporate and the resin-part to cure, whereas the structure of the pressure-plate is moulded into the surface of the fibreboard.

  • Patent number: 4670302
Abstract: Method and apparatus for wetting pourable solid matter. A preferred apparatus includes a tank (31) for accepting the solid matter, a mixing mechanism (32) for moving and breaking up the solid matter within the tank (31), at least one apparatus (5) for spraying the liquid substance supplied from a reservoir (11) into the tank, and an apparatus (2) for continuously feeding solid matter into the tank (31), characterized by the fact that the apparatus for spraying in the liquid substance includes at least one spraying nozzle (5) with an unchangeable (fixed) outlet opening (178) and a closure member (15, 16) that is to be opened (for aerating) and closed continuously, in a controllable sequence, that is connected to a feed line (9) that is under almost uniform pressure, and that is to be opened intermittently, for example electropneumatically, by control signals furnished from the apparatus (2) for supplying the solid matter.

  • Patent number: 4339478
Abstract: An arrangement for processing ligno-cellulose containing particles for the manufacture of wood-product plates. These have layers of oriented chips, and a chipper comminutes raw material. The fine material and dust are separated by a sifting device, and the sifted chips are provided with binder material by a gluing device. The chipper produces more chips of as great a length as possible than are required for forming of at least one cover layer of a mat. Behind the chipper, there are provided a wet-chip bunker and a dryer. The sifter separates the chips, obtained after removal of the fine material and the dust, into two fractions. The chip composition of one of these fractions, during the processing time, constantly contains chips which are as long as possible and which are more than that required for forming the mat layer. The other fraction has shorter chips obtained during chipping, and both fractions are present each in at least one bunker.
