  • Patent number: 7844067
Abstract: A universal speaker horn assembly includes a speaker horn sized and shaped to fit into a four inch deep space and connectors which are adjustable to such an extent to permit the speaker horn to be mounted to substantially any site, regardless of desired speaker position and building construction material. A grille press-fits to the front of the horn and a trim ring hides connectors from an optional trim plate to an optional back box. Speaker controls can be accessed from the rear or front of the system.

  • Patent number: 7643647
Abstract: A speaker support system is adapted for use in a suspended ceiling with grid openings and ceiling panels. The system has a speaker support base capable of supporting at least one speaker within a ceiling opening without interfering with the operation of the speaker. A guide flange is integral to the speaker support base and is adapted to align at least a portion of a ceiling tile within the grid opening. A support flange having an offset at each end is integral to the system, connected to the guide flange, and supports at least a portion of the ceiling tile within the ceiling grid opening so that the opening is filled with the speaker support base and the remaining portion of the opening is filled with ceiling tile. The base and guide flange are formed from a single piece of material, which is perforated substantially to at least some of the edges thereof.

  • Patent number: 7120269
Abstract: A lay-in tile type system is disclosed for supporting speakers in a new or existing suspended ceiling includes a perforated base section providing maximum free air space. A perforated surface also helps the lay-in tile system blend in with the overall suspended ceiling in which the system is installed. The system further provides integral flanges that form a T-shaped member to support at least a portion of an adjacent ceiling tile, obviating the need to purchase, cut and install a replacement grid member. The base and the flanges are constructed from a single sheet of material that is folded to form the flanges. The base is sized to fit within a portion of a conventional ceiling tile grid opening, and has substantially ninety degree comers so that the ceiling grid opening is completed by a ceiling tile sized with a simple straight cut, simplifying installation.

  • Patent number: 5054076
Abstract: A device for providing limited-access volume control for at least one remote speaker in an audio system, the device comprising a lockable, key-actuable attenuator that attenuates an input audio signal to provide an attenuated output audio signal. The attenuator is adjustable upon the insertion of a key to selectively adjust the degree of attenuation, and is lockable upon the removal of the key to prevent unauthorized adjustment of the degree of attenuation. The attenuator preferably comprises a transformer having primary and secondary windings. A plurality of tap means is connected to the secondary winding. A lockable, key-actuable, multiple position switch, having a contact corresponding to each switch position, is connected to the tap means with each contact being connected to one of the tap means. The switch can be operated upon insertion of a key to move from position to position and can be locked upon removal of the key.
