  • Patent number: 4688620
Abstract: A curtain-tape, for hanging a curtain and forming fan-pleats, comprises a tape adapted to be attached, more particularly sewn, along one edge of the curtain, and elements secured thereto at predetermined intervals or alternating intervals and adapted to be joined together to form fan-pleats. In order to make up the elements, slides, rollers or the like, known per se, are divided into individual slide- or roller-elements. Several such slide- or roller-elements are, in turn, adapted to be connected together, thus forming a fan-pleat, into a group of slide- or roller-elements.

  • Patent number: 4541968
Abstract: A cooling tower is provided with a crown inwardly tapered towards the upper discharge opening defined by the upper rim of the crown to create a pressure differential greater on the inside than on the outside of the crown to inhibit cold air break-ins in still air or winds of low velocity. To reduce the effect of side winds of high velocity, the crown may carry a wind-deflector ring with an upwardly-inclined deflecting surface to inhibit the creation of a vortex over the tower. The tower may be suspended by cables from a central mast, and the wind-deflector ring may be suspended by separate cables from the mast, these latter cables being tensioned between the masthead and the lower part of the crown by means of a support ring arranged at the base of the wind-deflector ring.

  • Patent number: 4360496
Abstract: Cooling system for auxiliary systems of a nuclear installation for heat removal from heat exchangers, the heat exchangers being connected on the primary side thereof to lines which may contain radioactive liquids or gases, being disposed in a secured area of the nuclear installation, and having connections on the secondary side thereof for cooling liquid lines, including an outgoing line for the cooling liquid connected to the connections on the secondary side of the heat exchangers, a dry cooling tower having cooling elements connected to the outgoing line, a return line for the cooling liquid connected to the cooling elements, a refrigeration loop having a supplemental heat exchanger with the primary side thereof connected in the return line, a bypass line connected from the outgoing to the return line parallel to the cooling elements and supplemental heat exchanger, and a control valve connected in the bypass line.
