Patent number: 4572100Abstract: A method is disclosed of applying glue to loose fibrous material which is revolved relatively rapidly in a confined space. While this is happening, the glue and air under slight excess pressure are fed to the material from approximately the center of the space. Apparatus for this purpose comprises a container, a hollow shaft rotatably mounted in the container, and a plurality of rod-like tools secured to the hollow shaft. Each of the tools is generally cylindrical, and is provided with a central longitudinal bore one end of which opens into the hollow shaft and the other end of which is closed. Each tool has a longitudinally-extending flat external surface portion, and a plurality of substantially radial bores communicating with the central longitudinal bore. The radial bores of each tool terminate at the external surface of that tool in the zone of said flat portion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1985Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Assignee: Gebruder Lodige Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft mbHInventor: Wilhelm Schluter

Patent number: 4370945Abstract: A method for gluing of chips, fibers, and similar ligno-cellular containing articles which are discharged falling free in a vertical chute and being subjected at least partially to rotational forces during the downward movement thereof, being glued and thereafter being discharged from the chute, characterized thereby that the chips during the free fall thereof are collected into a rotating chip material ring and after at least substantial formation of the chip material ring being glued and that directly subsequently chips of the at least substantially formed chip material ring are subjected to components of movement directed upwardly in such a manner that the chip material ring is stopped in the downward movement thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1981Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Assignee: Gebruder Lodige Maschinenbau Gesellschaft mit beschrankter HaftungInventors: Heinrich Beckschulte, Wilhelm Schluter

Patent number: 4143975Abstract: An apparatus for applying adhesive to fibrous material in which a generally horizontal cylindrical member is provided having an inlet in the top near one end and an outlet in the bottom near the other end. A shaft is rotatable on the axis of the cylindrical member and has radially extending tools thereon angularly spaced from one another and disposed in a substantially helical path along the shaft. The tools nearest the inlet have a passage means therein through which adhesive is supplied to fibrous material introduced into the inlet while the others of the tools admix the adhesive with the fibrous material.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1977Date of Patent: March 13, 1979Inventors: Wilhelm Lodige, Fritz Lodige, Josef Lucke, Wilhelm Schluter

Patent number: 4126361Abstract: A large antifriction bearing composed of a plurality of segments for absorbing forces generating axial, radial and pitching forces, in which each of the individual segments is formed by two bearing ring segments. Within the region of the roller path of the large antifriction bearing one bearing ring segment has a cross section of a substantially one-piece T-shaped profile, whereas the other bearing ring segment in cross section is designed as a U-shaped profile partially surrounding the flange of the T-shaped profile. Holding ring segments are detachably connected to the the ends of the two free legs of the U-shaped profile and extend into the region of the web of the T-shaped profile. The bearing ring segments which abut each other and form the large antifriction bearing are guided by runningpath wires inserted into the bearing ring segment and bridging the areas abutting each other.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1977Date of Patent: November 21, 1978Assignee: Hoesch Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Manfred Bottner, Wilhelm Schluter

Patent number: 4030786Abstract: A multi-row anti-friction bearing for absorbing simultaneously occurring axial, radial, and torque loads, in which in a divided bearing ring there are provided a first and second or a first, second and third wire body each of which forms one raceway for the anti-friction elements, e.g. in the form of cylindrical rollers. In a non-divided bearing ring there is provided an additional wire body with two raceways and, if desired, a fifth wire body with one raceway only. With each raceway there cooperates one but a different anti-friction element, while the axes of rotation of both anti-friction elements, e.g. cylindrical rollers, cooperating with the two raceways of the additional wire body extend at a right angle to said last mentioned two raceways.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1976Date of Patent: June 21, 1977Assignee: Hoesch Werke AktiengesellschaftInventors: Wilhelm Schluter, Heinz Pohler

Patent number: 4015829Abstract: An apparatus for applying glue to the fibers of material, such as wood and the like, especially to cellulose-containing fibers, in which the fibers are supplied to one end of a substantially horizontal drum and removed from the other end thereof with the fibers being impelled through the drum by impelling elements mounted on a central shaft rotatable in the drum and at the inlet end of the drum. Glue is applied to the material downstream from the impelling elements, and downstream from the region of glue application the material is intensively combed by tapering elements mounted on the central shaft. The glue is applied by radial elements mounted on the central shaft and to which glue is supplied through the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1976Date of Patent: April 5, 1977Assignees: Wilhelm Lodige, Fritz Lodige, Josef LuckeInventors: Hermann Forster, Wilhelm Schluter, Horst Sterr
