  • Publication number: 20080310782
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial bearing having a cassette seal, and to the cassette seal itself, in which the radial bearing has an inner ring, an outer ring, and rolling bodies which are arranged between them, and in which the cassette seal is arranged in a press fit axially next to the rolling bodies between the inner ring and the outer ring, wherein the cassette seal has a carrier, a seal which is fastened to it and a bent sheet-metal ring, against which sealing lips of the seal bear. For the inexpensive manufacture and the effective sealing of a radial bearing of this type, there is provision according to the invention for an additional means to the static seal to be arranged between the bent sheet-metal ring and the bearing ring.

  • Patent number: 6018034
Abstract: This process for the production of 2-keto-D-gluconic acid starts from D-glucose. D-glucose is catalytically oxidised using molecular oxygen in a one-pot process. The oxidation is performed in the presence of well-known Pt/Pb catalysts. The initial reaction to D-gluconic acid is performed at constant pH between 7 and 10. There after the reaction is continued without pH control. This process results in a high selectivity compared with known processes.

  • Patent number: 5487611
Abstract: A sealing system for a roller bearing having an inner bearing race on the axle, bearing rollers around the inner race and an outer race around the bearing rollers. A sealing cap is spaced axially away from one axial end of the races. A first sealing ring is sealed to the outer race, and it includes an axial area that extends toward and that is spaced a short distance from the sealing cap defining a first sealing gap. A felt ring is disposed within the bore defined by the axially extending area of the first sealing ring. The felt ring is spaced axially out from the rollers and defines a first grease holding chamber between the rollers and the felt ring and a second grease holding chamber axially outward of the felt ring. A second sealing ring is located axially outward of the felt ring. It includes a sealing lip which seals at the felt ring.
