The coins are deformed into a corrugated shape, flattened out or shredded. The device comprises at least two rolls (6, 7) or assemblies which are rotatable in opposite directions, a feeding device (3) for feeding coins to be debased to said rolls or assemblies and a discharge device (8) for carrying the debased coins away from said rolls or assemblies.
