    Abstract: A transducing device for contactless ultrasonic inspection of pipelines or tubings is provided. The device has a means for electromagnetically generating elastic waves within the wall of the pipeline or tubing to be inspected and means for mounting and moving said device along a pipeline or tubing. The generating means may be a magnet and at least one transmitting coil, with the transmitting coil arranged on one of the poles of the magnet. The poles of the magnet are directed towards the wall of the pipeline or tubing under inspection.
