A technology commissioner acts as a franchiser and a full range of documentation for producing a product is made available for a franchise recipient. The franchisee commissioner also prepares an identification device which contains at least one data carrier for identifying the franchise commissioner, which the franchise recipient attaches to the product before delivery to the consumer.
