Patent number: 12536749Abstract: An augmented reality visualizer for swimming pools is described herein. In one example, a system can receive images of a target area for a swimming pool from a camera. The system can generate an augmented reality environment by analyzing the images. The augmented reality environment can include a virtual swimming pool overlaying at least one image of the target area. The system can then output the augmented reality environment on a display for viewing by a user.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2023Date of Patent: January 27, 2026Assignee: Latham Pool Products, Inc.Inventors: Will Cappiello, Joel Culp, Scott Mocha, Scott Reynolds

Publication number: 20250252653Abstract: Swimming pools can be visualized according to some aspects described herein. In one example, a system can receive a user selection of a particular liner from among a plurality of liner options for a virtual swimming pool. The system can generate a virtual swimming pool having the particular liner. The virtual swimming pool can be a three-dimensional (3D) rendering of a swimming pool with the particular liner. The system can then output the virtual swimming pool for display on a display device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2025Publication date: August 7, 2025Inventors: Will Cappiello, Joel Culp, Scott Mocha, Scott Reynolds

Publication number: 20240201373Abstract: Some examples of the present disclosure relate to a measurement system with automatic tracking for measuring the perimeter of a swimming pool. In one example, a measurement system can track movement of a target object around a perimeter of a swimming pool by analyzing images of the target object received from a camera. While tracking the movement of the target object, the measurement system can automatically control an orientation of a ranging device to follow the movement of the target object. The measurement system can receive a user request to acquire range data. In response to the user request, the measurement system can instruct the ranging device to collect the range data while the ranging device is oriented toward the particular location. The measurement system can then receive the range data and store the range data to a storage device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2023Publication date: June 20, 2024Inventor: Will Cappiello

Patent number: 11508133Abstract: An augmented reality visualizer and measurement system for swimming pool components (e.g., liners and safety covers) is provided in some examples of the present disclosure. In one example, a system can receive images of physical markers positioned spatially around a perimeter of a swimming pool in real space. The system can identify the physical markers in the images by analyzing the images using one or more image processing techniques. The system can determine one or more characteristics of the swimming pool based on relationships between the physical markers. The system can then generate pool component information based on the determined one or more characteristics of the swimming pool, and output the pool component information.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2021Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: Latham Pool Products, Inc.Inventors: Will Cappiello, Joel Culp, Scott Mocha, Scott Reynolds
