Abstract: An improvement in a tool box of the type having a lower part which fits across the bed of a pickup truck and an upper part which extends over onto the panels of the pickup truck and a lid covering the upper part. The tool box is made from a plurality of separate components primarily by dividing the tool box transversely and constructing each of the major components in two halves. Prior to assembly into a tool box, these components are arranged into a relatively small generally rectangular package to thereby facilitate shipping and storage.
