    Abstract: The present invention relates to a pump device for a gas oil tank of a motor vehicle, the device comprising a pump (10) and a filtering strainer (20) placed at the intake of the pump (10), and being characterized by the fact that it includes a valve (100) disposed in a passage (22) formed through the strainer (20) so as to close said passage (22) in normal operation, the valve (100) being adapted to open automatically when the pressure difference between the outside of the strainer (20) and the inside thereof exceeds a threshold because of the strainer (20) becoming clogged.
