Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for narrative-driven wagering are disclosed. During a live contest, data from various data sources may be fed into a narrative model. The narrative model may identify a narrative for the live contest based on the data. The narrative may include an actor, a storyline, a sentiment, and a time frame. Based on the identified narrative, one or more wagers for the live contest may be identified. A parlay may be generated based on the wagers. The wagers may be surfaced to a user via a graphical user interface. A generative copy model may automatically generate copy for increasing user engagement with the wagers. The copy may include a headline and graphics that are generated based on the wagers and the narrative. User engagement with the wagers may be used to retrain the narrative model and the generative copy model.

During a live contest, a wager delay may be enacted on any wagers placed. The wager delay may be dynamic such that the time of the wager delay changes throughout the contest. The wager delay may be determined based on a state of the contest, such as whether the contest is in a live state or is in a break state. When the contest is in the break state, the wager delay may be lowered or disabled until the contest returns to the live state. The wager delay may be applicable to only users determined to be wagering on the contest while also in-attendance at the contest.
