  • Patent number: 7686010
Abstract: A high temperature bake oven including a source of heat, a first stone-like plate located above the heat source receiving an item to be baked, a second stone-like plate located above the first plate and a housing enclosing the first and second plates forming a bake oven chamber between the first and second plates having a front opening directing convection heat upwardly from the heat source against the first and second plates and between the plate over an item to be baked.

  • Patent number: 5437593
Abstract: A roller assembly for rolling planar floorings has a pair of roller sections rotating about offset axes. A handle portion extends along an axis which is offset from the axes of both roller sections, and is positioned equal distance from the two axes. Thus, a force transmitted from the handle portion to the roller is equally divided between the two roller sections. The two offset roller sections prevent the handle from pivoting relative to the axis of the roller. Preferably, a pair of brackets mount the two roller sections and the handle. One of the roller sections is positioned between the brackets while the other roller section is defined by two roller portions extending axially outwardly from the brackets. In this way, a force for smoothing a seam on two adjacent planar flooring sections is concentrated in the central roller.

  • Patent number: 5184446
Abstract: A unique platform performs several functions in the installation of planar flooring. The platform has a planar top face and a pair of wheel sets on an underface. In a first function the platforms are used in groups of two, and positioned with the wheels extending upwardly and spaced from each other such that the axis of rotations of the sets of wheels on the two platforms are generally parallel and aligned. A coil of planar flooring material is placed on the spaced platforms, such that the planar flooring material may be removed from the coil with the wheels turning to aid in the removal and protect the surface of the flooring. After the planar material is removed and has been adhesively applied to a floor, the platforms perform a second function. They are reversed and a force is applied to the platform such that the wheels roll along the planar flooring and cause the adhesive to wet and firmly secure the planar flooring to the underlying floor.

  • Patent number: 5181731
Abstract: A pivotable cart is disclosed which has a first and second support members for supporting a rolled material. The first and second support members are pivotable relative to each other to a storage position. In the pivoted storage position, the cart requires a minimum amount of space. The cart may be easily pivotable outwardly to a use position where it will adequately support an elongate rolled material. The support members are preferably identical, and connected to a pair of spaced wheels such that the support members pivot about the wheel axis relative to each other. A chain prevents the two support members from pivoting relative to each other beyond a predetermined amount. Further, the support members each include a support surface having a generally V-shape with an apex aligned with an apex of the other support member to provide a ditch for support of the coiled material.

  • Patent number: 4999923
Abstract: The carpet measuring strap and sling assembly of this invention provides a simple and inexpensive method of cutting a predetermined length of carpet from a carpet roll. The assembly preferably includes at least two flexible inelastic straps which are preferably releasably joined at their respective ends to form flat loop slings which are received in space relation around the carpet roll when the carpet roll is rotatably supported in a horizontal orientation spaced above floor level. The carpet is then unrolled vertically into the strap slings and cut to length. In the preferred embodiment, at least one of the straps is marked incrementally on its outer surface with a scale for measuring length, whereby the length of the carpet unrolled is measured by the strap as the carpet is unrolled.

  • Patent number: 4872231
Abstract: An impact blade tool particularly suitable for tucking carpet and the like into tight corners and beneath baseboards, although the impact blade tool has other application. The impact blade tool includes a handle having substantial mass for driving a blade member including a shank or guide portion telescopically mounted on the handle. A spring resiliently biases the handle away from the blade member and a stop limits telescopic movement of the blade member shank portion away from the handle. The blade member and handle have mating impact driving surfaces such that the handle functions as an impact driver for driving the blade member for tucking carpet or other applications. In the most preferred embodiment, the stop also functions as a blade orienting means releasably retaining the blade in a plurality or oriented positions relative to the handle. The blade portion may be configured similar to a conventional carpet tucking tool or an arcuate carpet knife also used for carpet tucking.

  • Patent number: 4726867
Abstract: A hot melt carpet seaming support which includes a plurality of flat generally rectangular slats, wherein the mid portion slats are slidable on a flexible wire or filament into abutting relation forming a flat continuous support for the heat bonding carpet tape beneath the opposed edges of the carpet sections to be joined. The carpet seaming support thus provides a firm support during bonding which avoids heat damage to the carpet pad. Further, the carpet seaming support is flexible about the wire or filament for easy removal of the seaming support particularly at the wall and coiling for storage. The method includes arranging the slats in abutting side-to-side relation beneath the carpet sections to be joined for receipt of the bonding tape and removal of the seaming support following bonding, as defined.
