Abstract: An air purifier of automatic type is provided within a housing which can be positioned within various places in a confined space, such as most preferrably a vehicle interior, in which smoke may be present to purify the air therein. The unit includes a housing formed of base and cover portions, and including a filter for filtering of tobacco smoke and other impurities. A fan draws the air through the housing for filtration by the filter of smoke and such impurities. An electric motor drives the fan, and is controlled by a circuit including a smoke detector for causing operation only upon detection of smoke in the air, and most preferably causing operation for a predetermined time interval upon such detection.
