    Abstract: A relief valve to relieve excessive pressure on a flexible transfer hose used for transferring fluid material such as anhydrous ammonia when the valves on each end of the hose are closed. The gas expands and the relief valve bypasses the tank valve to relieve excessive pressure buildup in the hose. The relief valve vents such excessive pressure back into the tank supply chamber and not to the ambient atmosphere.
